Hi guys,
I got my BT combat karambit an hour ago and I was quite shocked with the speed of shipping. I paid October 30 and it got here November 3. I should probably mention that I am in New Zealand and it came from the Emerson factory in the US
The knife is a LOT smaller than what I expected, but I am used to pretty big fixed blades. I also have smallish hands and they wrapped around the handle quite nicely. The blade is extremely sharp, already cut myself playing with the wave feature using my thumb.
Craftmanship is excellent. No dents, scratches or nicks anywhere on the blade or handle. The deployment is still very rough, yet that is to be expected of a new knife. I plan to sit down and play around with it later tonight to get it to loosen up.
I love the blade shape as well. I can't stress this enough that I feel Emerson has hit the sweet spot or angle whatever you wanna call it for the curve of the blade. I did some Kali growing up in the Philippines so I really have developed a soft spot for thie karambit style.
My only concern is that in the closed positon, the liner lock seems very near the side of the blade. It has the smallest of gaps so I am not sure if this is going to scratch the blade when I carry it in pocket or something. Since this is my first Emerson, I don't know what to expect.
I tried to get some pictures, but as soon as I snapped a shot of the box it came in, the batteries died. So I'll get some later.
Overall, 10/10. I can find NO flaws whatsoever on this knife. I have a stonewashed Horseman and CQC7 coming later this week so I am very excited!!
Cheers
Tony
