Well I went to the gun show yesterday to pick up some ammo, and got chatting with Mr. Dwyer. What a nice guy.
Got to pick up a AR, and was very tempted with a D9, but passed.
I just dont remeber these knives being this damn cool. I played with them before, but the folders are impressive.
Think I am going to retire the Commander to the safe for a long while.

Not up the Shelby standard, but they will do.

One here in Vegas, this weekend. Think its a Claud Hall show.

Thanks for the pics. The dollar actually helps give it scale. Man, that looks almost prehistoric. That grind kicks ass, looks like it cuts off a good amount of weight from the stock. I'd love to get one.

Eich1911, I like the braids on your knives. Did you do it yourself? Can you show me how or direct me to a website that shows me how to do this? Thanks.

krept,
Your right it is fit for hunting prehistoric creatures :)

corbon,
The fobs I do are something I learned a long time ago.
I tryed to do a search to find instructions, I remeber someone did post some rather good instructions on how to do it. I just cant find the thread. Hopefully someone will see this and post a link. If we dont come up with the link, I will try and do some instructions.

Here is a quick pic, I am sending these off to a friend that has some Strider folders. Glad you asked before I sent them.

The 2 on the left are square, and the 2 on the right are round. I have found if you remove the core from the green para cord, it lays falter for the round fob. The one on the far right has the cord removed, whereas the one next to it is still in.

I leave a loop on my fobs because of the way you attach them to the AR, so its totaly removeable. If you are attaching to a standard hole you would put the loop through the lanyard hole and then tie.

I like the removable loop idea. Beats the hell out of cutting them off when you don't want them.

Yeah I just burn the ends with a lighter. Normally I take the time to get out the wood burner, and do it right. Didnt have time, wanted to ship them before I went to work.

Just burn it and push the still soft (caution very hot) cord into the fob. That way it wont pull loose. Eric over at USN, leaves two of the ends long, creates a small loop, burns them together and attaches a photon flashlight. Now that is a heck of an idea.

MOLEXEY you rock brother. Thanks for the great post on your part. I am sure it helped many, many people.
How I hate cutting off a good cord........

OH one other thing the loop helps with, I leave it big enough so that I can fit either my thumb in there for the reverse grip or the pinky in a forward grip.
