A copperhead. Don't read much about them here on the forums so I thought I'd try one out. Snagged this one off ebay for under $30. Great fit and finish. I only had it for a few hours, but so far so good. So, what's your takes on the Henckels?

Great buy! My first "collectable" 30+ yrs ago was Henckels and I still love 'em today. You can't go wrong.

I have that same knife in red picked bone. I loved it. carried it for a while until my 15 yr old adopted it. seems to be good steel. It sharpened up nicely and held it for a while, as a matter of fact I can't remember resharpening it yet.

Those were made for United Cutlery by either Boker or Olbertz (sp?). Henckels quit making its own pocket knives around 1960.

I picked up a very nice 4 blade stockman last year for around the same price. It's the model with the extra punch blade.

I'm pretty sure Boker was making most of their pocket knives.

Unfortunately Henckels dropped their pocket knife line-up to concentrate more on kitchen cutlery, so grab them while you can.

I didn't know that. Thanks for the tip guys. I like Boker knives too. I don't think I have anything to fret about as far as quality.

Bought one two weeks ago at a local gunshow. Seems very nice when compared to the Case knives that I have. Also just received my first Boker, two bladed copperhead, seems to be about the same fit and finish as the Henckels.

Which Copperhead is it, Bonsai Magnum?

I have that exact same Coperhead. I like the washboard design! Its perfect! I also have a new Grand Canyon Bone Whittler that is also perfect. Bokers are 2 or 2...well Actually I picked up a early 70's Boker USA Dogleg Jack from ebay and it hasn't left my pocket. So 3 for 3.

That is my thought too. I have quite a few Henckels's and quite a few Boker's and I love them both. I have been unable to find Henckels lately, but when I do they are sometimes cheaper than Boker. I figure, you can't go wrong with either one, since there both made by Boker.

I like mine, I've had it just about three weeks now...a step bolstered 4-blade Congress in stag and Stainless.

Only tang stamp is on big sheepsfoot blade and reads...

(two little Henckels guys)

They make (or rather did make) some decent looking lockbacks as well, a bit on the large side though.

That's true with the Henckel's lockbacks too ( if you can still find them) , the Boker branded version of the same bone scaled lockbacks were selling for about 25% more.

I have found an ebay store called JR Knives that has very reasonable prices on Henckels and Boker slipjoints, I have purchased from him and seems to be a good guy.
I hope this does not break any rules on this forum, if it does please delete the posting.

I don't know if it breaks any rules, but I buy from that guy too.

You're good to go, timsclips. We just don't want any links to live ebay auctions under the circumstances outlined in the "sticky" at the top of the page. Thanks for your concern and community spirit.
