Got My First Herron For Christmas

Well guys they got me good this time. Last thursday myself and cavelady went to Mr.George and Mrs.Barbara Herrons home/shop for happy hour. He had two new folders he was working on, and anybody that knows me knows that I had to look/play with them,since he done sent me back to school to learn how to read and write f o l d e r s and they are driving me crazy. They had to be laughing at me the whole time. Saturday they come poping in with this large gift-wraped box and a case of beer and a merry Xmas. After about ten minutes of opening the box and smaller packages on and on, out pops a beautiful folder with bark ivory. We were so suprised, had no idea, I guess he was just letting play with the hook before he set it. As long as I have been around them I still did not own one of his works. You just have no idea what we felt like. I know my buddies are tired of hearing/seeing it since they cant even get on the list. I am still to far out to post yet but maybe I can get Dexter or the Senator to get yall a pic posted. Man I love Xmas HoHo Ho. Very nice. I have an old Herron fixed blade and can imagine the pleasure you got from receiving your folder. He is a great maker and the knife I have made by him is by far my favorite.

Howdy There GenO.....!
Boy, that is a gift to keep and past on to ya grandkids. It is beautiful, I sure I get to see it in person some day. I wanted to take Mr. George's folder class, but couldn't get things work out to take it. I just got my first Herron fixed blade recently and I love it. Tried to post a pic of it on the custom forum, but I didn't get it to work. Maybe Dexter can tell me how to do it correctly. Hopw to see ya soon..!

GenO, beautiful knife, from one great maker to another. I would have been very pleased if I had received a Denning for Christmans, fixed or folder, it's interesting to find out what would make the makers we like smile.
