I am impressed with the quality, and very pleased. I purchased an M43 with horn handle, it was in the batch held up in customs so I have been very eager and impatient. Postman came today and I am very happy. Like everyone else, I am intrigued by the kami's mark, been through all the resources and PDFs and can't find this one (looks like music notes). I am impressed especially with the sheath, it is much more cleanly made than my Khuk from another maker, and overall the impression of this M43 is nothing but positive. When I get out and start using this excellent tool, I will surely post some more of my experience.

I will definitely be buying more from HI (have my mind set on a 30" Sirupati, heh), and will be stalking the forum for deals from Yangdu.

Glad to be part of HI owners now.

Here are the pics:

Glad to add another to the list yak23flora. Sorry I can't help you with the kami mark. I know that there are a few new ones and I am ignorant of their marks. These are indeed impressive tools. I look forward to your field report and pictures if you get any up. Enjoy and be safe.

Added pics to the original post, and sliced my thumb (extremely minor) in the process. :grumpy: This blade is sharp...

That's a real nice M43. It wasn't on my list but after those pictures....

First khukuri, first blood. Invest in some bandages since you'll have more coming through the door.
Truly, I hope that you're OK. These blades will teach you to treat them with respect. (Really nice pictures you took. It is a real beauty.)

Yeah, I was balancing the blade for the photo and it slipped off the brush, I tried to keep it out of the mud, grabbed the spine from the back but grabbed too deeply and got a little knick on the thumb, no big deal. Trying to be very safety minded and to tech my kids the same. Had knives for a long time and scars to prove my foolishness of youth, but these Khukuris are a whole new blade.
