Love your 15.5" 15oz KLVUK. That one is a hikers dream and where I'm at you walk a lot to get to a good spot in the woods. Thanks for sharing.

Ya I would haves loved to have had it for the hiking trip I did earlier this month

Thanks. The M43 is one of the beer mug kami's blades. Don't know the weight yet will update the thread one I get a chance to weight it at work next week

you've got a severe case of HIKV! :)

i especially like those klvuk models with the thinner more traditional spines.

I have found the closer to the traditional style of Kukri the more useful the knife becomes. Personally, I admit I'm turned off by unnecessary thick spines and extremely large Kukris. One caveat to this statement is, as art a lot of the larger, heavier Kukris can be used to good effect because they are crafted so beautifully and embellished.

But these KLVUK are refreshing. I say to myself, "Wow, now that's a knife I can use" and I can see a Villager/Farmer/Gurkha actually using it all day.

I would love to see some of the KLVUK's made in a 12 or 13" size. Would be just about perfect for some of the camping that we do

I was actually thinking oal not blade size. Basically a smaller version
I don't know about that . If you go any smaller you will lose much chopping ability and the competition is tough in the 6 to 9 inch blades. Also, in the 6 to 9 inch blade size you get a kind of "tweener" knife. A knife that's not really good at small tasks and not long enough for bigger work.
If you mean 4 to 6 inch length you have Moras, Fallknivens, Bushlores, Rats, Bucks, Gerber's etc. to compete with. That's very hard to do with hand made goods vs machine made. My opinion is stick with tradition. The Khukuri is from Nepal and a real traditional Kukri knife is want I would buy 10 to 1 over a non traditional one. Part of that tradition is blade length. The KLVUK is close to perfection .
