I got my first piece of straight Handle INFI today a SHBM with factory kydex atleast that is what the guy told me any way. Have a question about the edge. The guy I purchased it from said it still had a factory edge but the edge is quite a bit deeper or more of an angle on the right side if it is in your right hand. Is this normal or did some one change the angle.
I will post a picture later( wife has camera) Could some of you old school hogs with lots of SHBM's help me out. Here is a pic of the blade and a HOGFSH I just got a couple of weeks ago.

Sounds like the older asymetric edge. I think there is an article over at badmojo about it, and how to sharpen it.

Asymetrical edge is hella easy to sharpen....I thought it was introduced with the E-models though...

To my understanding the asymetrical grind was first offered on the Straight Battle Mistress, then on all of the Combat grade production knives as soon as they were offered in INFI.

Then on the Basics, then the E-models, then folks started complaining loudly instead of learning to use this great edge and how easy it is to keep sharp.

On the other hand it does tend to look like it was sharpened by a Drunken Monkey style Kung Fu master.

I have one like it.

If you want you can send it to me for verification.

I'll even pay the return shipping to help :cool:

asymmetrical edge is one of the toughest and easiest to maintain edges imho.
that sure looks like the factory sheath, btw.
great score!
