I picked up my first Pistol Caliber Carbine a week or so ago, I have owned a lot of guns in my life but never a PCC.

9mm Beretta CX4 Storm. Buds Gun Shop has a really great price on them right now! Takes Beretta 92 magazines, Comes with 2 mags, mag loader, cleaning kit and hard case. I picked up the Simmons red dot at wally world for $50, ditched the rings that came with it and mounted it with a set of high A.R.M.S. quick detach throw lever rings I had from a previous rifle I no longer own.

I love how the rifle handles and balances, unfortunately I haven't had a chance to take it out shooting yet but everything I have heard about the CX4 says it is supposed to be accurate and reliable. I am hoping to take it to the range later today for an initial firing and sighting in of the scope.

Congrats on the CX4. I've wanted one ever since I first held one, but I could never justify the price it demands when I could get an AR-15 for just a little more.

Already have an AR, and I sold a romy WASR 10 to a buddy to afford the storm. Getting set up to reload 9mm for my handguns so the storm made sense to me. Got to take it out and put a few rounds through it, with the stock sights it is dead on! Have to spend a bit more time sighting in the red dot but so far I really like it!

couple of suggestions if you have never reloaded 9mm or other straight wall auto loading cartridges.... use a Lee carbide sizing die as they size further down the case... this heads off some chambering problems down the line... my 9mm's are considerably more accurate with a 147grain bullet...

Just curious if you posted this thread in another forum? I could have sworn I posted in the thread but now can't find my post in this one! Congrats on the purchase, I've been considering a PCC also, this or maybe the Keltec Sub 2000. Was considering the JRC but now not so much.

Yes I did.

Yes I did.

Yes you did ;)

That looks pretty sweet. Ive handled the cx once but never fired it, handled nice

I ordered a Sig mpx, can't wait for that little money pit. I have to change over my dies though, been loading a lot of 5.56 lately

So far I really am liking this thing! Very accurate although I need to do a bit more fiddling with the scope. Getting set up to start reloading soon so feeding it shouldn't be a problem!

Looks good man, the CX4 was my first PCR as well. Bought mine (40S&W) back in 2005 or 2006. To the CX4, top rail/ side/ bottom rails, hard case, VFG for $540. The gun shop just wanted to get rid of it at the time. Now here it is almost 10 years later and I cant believe how popular and expensive they are. Still one of my favorite guns by far. I have shout a few thousand rounds thru it and every time at the range peopel stare at it thinking it is a toy. I hated the iron sights, so I thru a EOtech on it, the a morese lekker shroud and a TLR1 light. Later put a Urban ERT sling mount and Gear sector sling on it. Talk about bad A.....

Next time our outdoors, take some paper plates and stick them at 100 yards. The CX4 will still hit them.. Its nice to do 100 yard shots with a pistol caliber.

Congrats on your purchase man, I know you will enjoy it.

I thought the SIG MPX was an LE only item. Are they making them now as a semiautomatic?

The true MPXs are select fire and unfortunately, yep, can't get. If a RDIAS works for the semis though that would just be......orgasmic :o

Sig is making a couple that are semi, a pistol, a 16" where the last 8" are basically suppressor baffles with no outer shell (that one is in ATF law suit hell right now), a pistol with a folding Sig brace ( :D ) and regular SBRs with that awesome PDW style stock

I've been looking at PCRs for a while now. Does anybody know of anything in in .357? Besides lever action- I've been looking for a Marlin lever action .357 for a couple of years but not willing to pay the premium. Don't know why they're so hard to find, sure seems to be lots of demand. I'd love to find something semi auto in that caliber, or does the case design make that a no-go?

I've had my eye on one of these. Would make a great companion rifle for a gp100.

The Marlin in 44Mag is a great option. The "Cowboy/SASS" lever guns are good too. Also worth consideration is the trapper model lever actions. Even an old 38-55 is a potent little number inside a house or an RV. ;)

They're so hard to find because good ol Freedom Group (same douches who own Remington) bought them a couple years ago, started to run them in the dirt, fired all the old workers, then ran the company into a septic tank

You're paying a premium, and now always will thanks to freedom group, but the rifle that is a true Marlin and not a Remington Marlin, will be much better made.

Unless you get one of the last Marlin Marlins, where the old workers were still there but knew they were going to get shat canned, at that point they just sabotaged the guns and they looked like hell and far from worked right

Thanks for the tips guys. That Alaskan is sweet, but way too rich for my blood at the moment. You guessed right on the GP100 which is why I'm looking for .357.

Thanks for the education M67- that puts things in a different light. Guess I better start saving up for that premium.

I think there is a taurus/rossi lever gun out there that is more affordable. Might be worth a look.

Not much in the way of 357 semi auto carbines out there. Probably something to do with the 357/38 length and the many different load levels for ammo. The rim doesn't help either.
