I've never really been interested in them. I don't know why. Just the type of item I pass by in the stores and reviews I never really feel the draw to click on. A buddy of mine asked me yesterday if I wanted one. He said he had bought it for a trip he took and never used it. I said, "sure. I'll take it off your hands and try it out." Well I'm glad I did. While I would still prefer a machete for quickly displacing a small tree or obstruction, this pocket chainsaw is pretty dope. I could definitely see myself using it for occasions when I want a nice clean 90 degree cut as apposed to the nub you're left with from using a machete. I tested it on a 3"x3" board, sailed right through it. I was actually surprised by how quickly it cut. I'll certainly be adding this thing to the woods bumming tools I usually take with me. The one he gave me is the Pocket Chainsaw from Supreme Products, Inc.
Mine didn't have the handy dandy little handles that this one came with. I just grabbed a couple of sticks off the ground and put them through the loops. Worked like a champ.
