Been looking for a Fixed blade field knife for a while. Went into a local Army surplus store after reading some reviews on RAT and i saw a TAK in the clearance rack. Well I jumped on it.

My first impression is I love the KNIFE this will be replacing my gerber LMF as my primary field knife. I do think the sheath sucks but ill order a SPEC ops sheath for it...

Now im confused. Im looking at getting a RAT 3 for work carry but im confused as to which company im looking at RAT or RAT... Is there a difference in Quality?

any hoo i would post pix but im sure you have all seen a TAK so just know that I love my new blade.

Compared it next to my Gerber and still love it

Trying to find a Plain Edge RC3 to order now..

I would purchase the new RC-3 from RAT Cultery over the Ontario version. The fit and finish of the RC-3 in much nicer. IMHO

Clear on that.. that is the one im looking for.
Rat Cut does not sell from their site so im looking for a dealer

I was in the same predicament a while back, and ended up getting both.

I like the RC 3 better, but would not give up my Ontario either. They are that good!

I have been looking at the Rat3 for some time now and I am ready to pick one up. I think I like the RAT better than the Onterio so now to decide between the D2 and 1095. I recommended a rat 7 to a friend that wanted something larger and he has been very pleased with it.

I have a question on the knives on ebay, there are several versions, is the training adventure models RAt cutlery? I don't want to be mislead.

The best way to know the difference is the way the blade is marked.

RAT Cutlery knives are marked with an RC in front of the number, such as RC-3, RC-4, RC-6. At the present time RAT Cutlery products only come in 1095 carbon steel

Ontario RAT knives are marked: RAT-3, RAT-5, RAT-7, TAK, RTAK, RTAK II. Some of these come in both 1095 carbon and D2 steel.

You can also look at the difference by comparing these two web sites:

RAT Cutlery: www.ratcutlery.com
Ontario RAT: www.ontariorat.com

the sheaths for the RC knives are far better as well. I have the RAT3 in 1095 and D2 as well as the 1095 RC3 and in my opinion the RC knife and sheath system is better. Don't get me wrong, I still have RAT products and will continue to buy them but I am hooked on the RC knives for my MOLLE gear.

Tom @ Chestnut Ridge is a good customer of ours and does a good job with our product.

Problem is you have to sign up just to look around, not ready to give out my info just to look to see if I might be interested in buying from them.
Is there a thread on dealer listings?

Dillon ain't got shit on these gals. She's a pro model from Boston.
