Well i TOTALLY see what all the fuss is about! This is more than a knife, this is a work of art in the hand. And to think that the sebenza was as good as it gets...well...i was wrong in a big way. After the first authoritative *WHAP* rings out loud after the most gorgeous blade iv had infront of me fliiies out and locks up like a jail door, i quicky realized what kind of quality i had infront of me! This knife goes beyond words. Its twice more than i expected, even after all the reviews, the HD unboxings, endless photo galleries, they just wont do this knife justice untill you have your fist hinderer in hand. This instantly became my favorite blade to date. I love CRK, but growing up i was always a fan of things like benchmade strykers, cold steel fixed tantos, and the hinderer XM is just TOTALLY up my ally in every way. I kinda didnt realize it got this good guys. When inspecting this knife closely it reminds me of a fine fine time piece, or an overbuilt piece of jewelry, luxurious beautiful and elegant...then you grip tight and realize if there was a nuclear holocost, the XMs would be the only thing standing. This knife is such a king it almost dares you to mess with it! ;)

Within my first minute with it inhand, i realized she is not to be taken lightly and is a force to be recconed with! Ill start off my saying this is hands down, atleast time and a half sharper than any knife i have owned. I was opening n closing w one hand when the silky smooth blade came down fast on my thumb knuckle...iv never seen such blood spirting uncontrolably, so fast!! Before i even felt it i was gushing like a drinking fountin!! The blade was so sharp it doesnt even hurt! ...either that or i was just completly Hinderer high! :):) ...anyways...I took a photo of the bloody aftermath after i bandaged up and wiped up the the floor!! Lets just say this baby "kissed" me on the first date and now im tellin!!

I believe im in love! I wouldnt even know where to go from here except more Hinderers!! Hey...can anyone tell me where i can score a carbon fiber scale for my xm-24??? Or any links to alternate scale choices aside for whats on hinderers and monkey edge site???

Enjoy the pics yall...many more to come! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction and opening my eyes fellas. You all rock!!

Great post! Captured the moment of XM discovery wonderfully. I still feel that thrill when I flick open my XM. And so I do so every chance I get!!!!! Yours looks very much like mine although mine is Gen 1. Black, 3.5" non-flipper. I used to own a 24 but it was too much beast for my EDC needs!! Anyway, congrats!!!!!!!

Congrats on the knife, please be careful though, these knives can cut through anything, I'm surprised you still have your finger :)

Thanks for the kind words herd...im waiting for a mod to officially knight me part of the herd hehe. What can i say...im moving the 24 more n more by every waking minute! Completely amazing. Im stuck for life, my buddy asked me whats next?"...i said jeez, all i can forsee is more hinderers!! ;)

Got a new round of pics for yall. Iv never had such a beautiful piece of knife in my life. I tried to capture the mirror like shine that is on this blade...jaw dropping. Most reflective blade iv had, but the stonewash is the ying to the shiny yang haha.

Also tried to show what iv. Been carying it in until i find the perfect belt case/sheath. Its actually the case that came w my whaleshark. Fits like a dream but id rather it not say microtech and im kinda partial to nice leather Someone PLEASE link me to a site or maker for a killer belt case and or sheath?? Kinda like a crk sebbie pouch, but maybe alil more pleasing to the eye.

Thanks for all the support guys. I live in NY...anyone have a schedule for the knife shows on the east coast that rick will be at? I need to shake his and robs hand! (Raffle on some customs would be fun too!!)

Alittle off topic but where on blade forums can i find out about stop making and techniques?

Thanks! Enjoy! Many more pics to come. ;)

**can everyone see the pics from my very first post up top still?? I cant!**

Heres hey new question for you, pictures included, right in the grooves of my jimping it seems to be a vivid bronze color, almost like anodizing but not really, I can't tell, plus only titanium can be anodized right?? Can someone tell me if this is something that Rick does? Maybe this is something that someone who had it before me might have done? It doesn't look like paint it doesn't look like rust, I don't know I'm stumped. Beats the crud out of me haha. Take a look guys, and gals...

Ill add that i am the third owner of this fine MINT knife...the guy i bought it from got it at the 2011 ECCKS i believe. Now, idk if the original owner bought it right from ricks booth and then sold to my seller, or if he purchased right from the booth himself. Just a little background on it.

thanks for looking guys, take care!

Paging Rob, Rubicon, or Rick The Man Himself!!!! One of you please Knight this man as one of us. He's paid in blood, he belongs!

Nice,
The 24 is my favorite as well, I prefer the flipper because the flipper hits my thumb instead of the edge hitting it when I release the frame lock, Kind of like a safety.
Congrats!!!

Great knife, looks like your XM 24 took it upon itself to induct you into Hinderer Family. Probably deploying the blade with the thumb studs may be best for you seeing that you own Sebbies. The TS flicking is lightening fast, and by the way you don't have to worry about your warranty like the Sebbies with hard flicking, actually the Hinderers welcome flicking so they can talk to you in their "thwack" language.

Great pictures and welcome to the addiction.

Congrats on your first Hinderer and sorry you cut yourself. As far as the herd thing goes, I'm not sure what you mean. But I'll be happy to answer some of your other questions for you. The bronze color is from the heat treating process that every blade goes through. The stonewash media is too large to fit in the grooves so it doesn't get removed during the tumbling process. Hinderer Knives attends the Blade Show, the NYCKS show, the ECCKC show, the Plaza show, and they usually have a couple of get-togethers at the shop every year. As far as a sheath goes, I recommend you Google Lifter's Leathers.
Oh yeah, check all the authorized dealers listed on the RHK website for scales.

Hey mike! I wasnt being literal about the herd thing...just playin around tryin to fit in w the rest of you hinderer nuts on here, aka the heard. Thanks for all the info! So does that heat treatment leftovers on the blade jimping get worn off over time? Dont see many pics of it. Anyone know the exact dates for these shows? I know ricks site has news bits, but im just trying to plan ahead. Atleast im only 3 hrs north of NYC.

This knife just wont stop impressing me. You can really tell that rick sharpens these things. Sharpest blade iv owned hands down! Im starting to think this 24 is too nice to scuff up!! (I know, i know!) Might just have to get an xm18 3 or 3.5 as a beater! Im sure this is a common feeling within the first few days of receiving first Hinderer... Pride of ownership is absolutely through the roof!

That bronze color is going to stay in the jumping unless something gets in there and rubs it out. Every XM I've owned had the same!

Was that knife new or has it been sharpened? Congrats on the score.

The discoloration has been noted and discussed a number of times, here are two examples:

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/980512-Pink-in-the-Jimp-and-a-Tink
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/959185-walk3-trot3-5-canter4

I have added the discoloration FAQ to the next version of the Stickied XM Generation thread but haven't uploaded that yet.

thanks for the info fellas! I dig that maxpedition pouch, its basically the one im using now, stock microtech pouch. I think I wanna do leather on the belt...having trouble using this beauty till i get a smaller user XM.

I believe it was never used or sharpened, almost 100% positive, its flawless. idt it ever cut a thing.
