Whelp, my Small Sebenza Classic arrived today from KnifeArt (great site by the way and QUICK shipment).

Words can't describe how classy this knife is! It's so smooth, and ROCK SOLID at lockup. I never thought I'd own a knife, or that it was even possible to not move at all, but this knife does that. I love the blade shape, seems like it's going to be really useful in a lot of applications.

As far as use, I do not intend to leave this in the desk or in a case, it's going to stay with me at all times, and get used (within reason).

Still on a Sebenza high guys!

Great tool!

My first Seb had a bunch of defects so my first experience wasn't as great as yours, but CRK took care of it real quick and I'm a real big fan now. Congrats dude!

I dont know if I said here, but when I owned my internet company a few years ago I was a CRK dealer and I own and have owned many knives and I have had many, many, many CRK knives pass thru my hands. I have never seen problems with new knives right from the factory. What was wrong with your sebbie right from the factory, I am curious?

I think it was a rare moment because the new 21 model had just come out and they must have been under stress to get it out or something. I think there was something wrong with the ceramic ball/heat treat on the lock bar because whenever I was opening/closing the blade you can hear metal on metal scratching. It was a nasty sounding grating noise I cleaned/relubed/put it back together with the same problem. I had two other Sebenzas and none had this issue. Also on a lesser note the blade wasn't sharpened very well out of the factory. I always sharpen it myself but for $380 I expected the perfect edge I was used to. The screws would loosen up after a couple days of use. I had to constantly retighten them.

Thanks!

Only thing I'm kinda wondering about right now is that it's kinda hard to open with the thumbstud. I do understand that with a knife of this caliber the tolerances are much smaller, but I'm hoping I get used to it or it gets broken in a bit. Seems that the lock bar is really super stiff right now too.

That's normal. Try to put your thumb underneath the stud and push up instead of pushing to the left. Also keep your finger off the lockbar because it can keep the ceramic ball in the detent and make it harder to open. I actually had the same problem but figured it out. I go over it a bit in my youtube vid.

The opening action doesn't really change, at least in the 3-4 months I've owned one. It still opens/closes exactly like the first day.

Cool man! I'll get that a try too. Let me know when you get that video up.

Oh I uploaded a while ago. I thought you said in the other thread that you already saw it. I think it's at the one minute mark of the vid.

CONGRATS MANG!! Make sure you are not pressing on the lock bar with your index finger and push OUT on the thumb lug, and not down.

You guys are all the same, ya always start out your threads with

My day will come, hopefully I'll be among the ones who know they'll be gettin' many more:cool: but unfortunately I'll have to be content to wait and hope for the day when I've saved enough nickles and dimes to get one.:)

I've had the opportunity through the pass arounds early on to have one for a short while to play with so I loved it enough know the day will come when I'll be able to say,

Hey guys, just figured I'd post a "longer" term review of the knife.

I'm still in love with her. Couldn't imagine not having this knife by my side when I leave the house. Kinda like my watch, I feel naked without it.

It's finally got the first marks on it and it's kinda neat. I was worrying about it at first, but it gives it character now.....not only character but my character:p

Couldn't be happier fellas, and can't wait to get MORE!!

I'm thinking about getting one with my daugher's birthdate engraved on it...when she's born (due on April Fool's Day)..and maybe her newly given nickname....:D:thumbup:
