Even though I'm into knives since ... forever, I just got my first Sebenza :D . It's a small "classic 2000", double thumbstud. I received it yesterday and keep playing with it ever since. A very well made little framelock, great finish, edge, action and lockup. Even though they aren't among the cheap knives, I consider it to be bang for the buck

Bien fait jeune homme, a thing of beauty is a joy for ever.Yes and they are very expensive, here in Belgium a large Seb with graphics costs over 1000$.You lucky Americans.

You could order one in the US or Canada and save. There are ways to avoid paying a lot of duties/taxes........ . ;)

I am honestly surprised that that IS your first Sebbie!! WOW!! Congrats!

Where did you order this Sebenza from? That doesn't look like the stock grip; but much better in my opinion. I'd like to order the exact same knife minus the left thumb lug. I'd also like to get the right lug in silver (not anodized). Please advise on where you ordered it from!

Thanks and enjoy your new knife!

Thank you guys.
I bought it here on BF in the "Production knives for sale" section. :)

Is the grip black or is it actually the standard color (pictured on CR's website)? If it's black I definitely want to know (from anyone) where I can purchase this EXACT knife.

Thanks!

The handle is gray (like a rat :)). It appears a bit different in the picture because of the light, I had very low light and had to use some halogen. I tried to bring it close to the real color with Photoshop but it appears I didn't do a great job.

Congrats! I will guess that we will be seeing your around here more often. ;)

Congratulations ! I know what you mean about playing with your new Sebenza ! Got my first one this last week too. Very well made product. Enjoy, - - -

Well.... I just went ahead and ordered my very own. I opted for dual silver thumb lugs instead of the blue. Can't wait for it to come next week!@$

I too just got my first Sebbie. It's a large classic, nothing fancy. I've been thinking about sending it in to get double thumb lug, but just can't seem to part with it yet. Also, I've been thinking about getting a small damascus with unique graphics but, it is a lot of money and every knife in my collection are users to some extent (some more than others) and I don't know if I could bring myself to use such a #1 expensive and #2 beautiful knife

mm3, that's one of the reason(s) why I just went with the small classic and didn't get anything fancy.

After reading arround here a bit I went ahead and took it apart. I polished the spacers, relubed the blade and pivot areas and bent out a bit the clip so there is a tiny space between clip and lock spring when opened. It was quite nice before, now it's SMOOTHNESS! :D

Use a tiny drop of oil or grease (better) on the detent on the lock bar. This will really smooth the initial opening of the knife. There is something about those tight tolerances, ins't there?
