Hey guys, got my first slipjoint today and it is a real special one to me. I had a mini xmas with my nephew today. He is 4 years old and picked out a gift for me with his mommy. He got me a little buck toothpick. Its a cute little knife and sharpens real easy. Ft and finish is a bit rough but that doesnt matter. Its a real keeper and means a lot to me. Ill use it daily :D

Just thought Id share, it really made my day.

10-4 to that, Thalestin. My 2 year old daughter picked out a Buck Solo for me, the Bass Pro Shop exclusive red wood handled one, a few months ago, and I have been carrying it religiously. It has put all my other slippies out to pasture. Getting a gift from a young family member is just special in a way that does not compare with a gift from anyone else. Carry it, use it, and enjoy it. Everytime you use it, you'll think of that kid better then if you had a picture of him!! Your nephew has good taste. Thanx for sharing.

I would cherish it, too. I've been eyeing that Buck toothpick. What don't you like about the f&f

My boy picked me out a Case swayback jack online. Pretty amazing for a three year old, eh?

That young fella is obviously wise beyond his years to give his uncle his first slipjoint.
In a few years you might be able to do the same for him.

What a wonderful gesture on that young man's part. That's a fine knife for your first slipjoint and it's priceless.
