First impressions? :)

Extremely well made. Sent an original first run ATC Lagana head in, got a 26" handle installed. Quite a bit of paracord wrapping.

Removed it. :)

Some fabric around the handle. Interesting. Neat texture. Distractedly loud to me, not in any "tactical ninja" sense, just odd and out of place, for my needs.

Removed that as well.

I REALLY like the base fiberglass handle. A fellow who put these on a nice clean run of production heads could make a PILE of money.

I've been involved in the "modern" hawk game for a while now, and this is the BEST HANDLE I've ever seen.

Great job, Vec. Looking forward to my Norse hawk, and if that's forthcoming soon, I have two more heads to send you.

Thank's for the review/Info. on your first "Vec Made" Composite Handled Hawk, I really like the work he doe's, I'm more of a Traditional Wood & Steel type, But everytime he put's up some picture's they alway's catch my eye, I like them Camo pattern Handle's & Hawk Head's, It's just a matter of time & "Money" but I'll be getting some Hawk Head's sent to get New Handle's by Vec Real Soon,

glad you liked the basic handle, brother.

i'm with you on the experimental cordura cover - it would get sweeter with use though - i think that i am going to scrap that idea cuz folks either love it or hate it.

wrap that neck back up with the paracord, is my advice, for overstrikes. - we could make the handle twenty times stronger than what it is - but strength is not the challenge in these things - it's weight and balance....

i love that hawk - Saint Erica had to practically use it on me to get it away from me... maybe you should just sell it to me...:D....

we have a lot of new shit to put on and in the Gen 1 Mk 4's still - that is the first VTAC we handled and i really like it.

wait until you see the next hawk, i am going another direction that you oughtta love, and thanks for the patience and ESPECIALLY your input;

the humble Hawk Project, i forget to emphasize, is really just a huge research project on tomahawks, and we have learned a lot of neat things, and continue to explore.

i have sixty handles down in the Hawk Dungeon waiting for some love, with more coming, and i am working on them seven days a week - we are finally starting to cook with gas, ya dig me, fellow-babies?:thumbup:

anyways,

talk is cheap - so just i'll show ya instead soon.

thanks again.

I have since thrown, chopped, hammered, spiked, and beat the hawk up. Besides some of the finish being worn of from driving the spike through an old filing cabinet, this hawk is excellent.

The length of the handle provide for a two handed grip, which is nice for leverage.

The surprising thing is how easy it is to pick out individual branches while holding it at the base of the handle and snap them off. No issues with over striking.

It's really sort of a war hammer at this length.

Highly recommended.

yeah - the cross-section of the Gen 1 handles is an attempt at making target indexing improved over the alternatives.

glad ya like it.

Hi Vec, you may be having some email issues. I sent your wonderful Erica an email on the 17th and never got a response. She has always been amazingly prompt about responding in the past. I'll resend it tonite- I am not not expecting a response late on Sunday night tho!

thanks for that heads-up, brother.

i still think it is unlikely, but i will tell her to check her settings.

i just recently found a couple of emails Erica had sent me that got caught in the spam filters. all apologies.

Yep- got the usual surprisingly fast response to my email. Trouble must've been on my end. Now that that's settled, back to waiting patiently...

Yeah, RIGHT!

much appreciated for the clarifications, brethren.

we really take it hard when we think we are letting you down.

i purposefully leave filters off on both our e-mails to reduce the chance of missing a comm.
