Got my 0566 yesterday in the mail. Have a few questions. I bought this knife already de-assisted, and i tried to put the torsion bar back in and when the knife is open it rattles. Is it supposed to do this ? Because i dont like it. And is there a way to stop this? The other problem that i am having is that when the torsion bar is in. It is super hard to close the knife and to open it. The knife stops halfway when comming out. So i loosten the pivot, but pretty much have to loosten it so much it feels like the screw will fall out on its own from being so loose, which then causes TONS of blade play. Not a good first impression of zt.

When you de-assisted you most likely either lost the grease that was in the t-bar cavity or you moved it and spread it around which happens as I've done it. The grease helps hold the t-bar and prevents the rattleing. Using a good thick hi temp grease like a white lithium will rememdy your situation. Do not use vaseline or anything similar unless you want an oily pocket.

This, just use grease. Also when putting the torsion bar back in are you doing it with the blade open or closed? Its made a difference for me in the past, I deassisted a blur and didnt like it, when I went to put the torsion bar back in I put the knife back together closed. It put the torsion bar at a weird angle inside the cavity and it bound up.

So you bought a zt second hand, tried to take it apart and reassemble without being 100% sure of what you were doing and then complain that it's zt's fault?

Send the knife to zt and let them put it back together properly for you.

Your knife will be fine when properly assembled.I really don't understand why you don't have a good first impression of ZT, after all they're not responsible for jacking you're knife up.

I deassisted my 0566, it didn't work like I wanted it to. It wouldn't flip without the pivot screw extremely loose. I put vasoline on the torsion bar and put it back together with the blade locked open. works fine. the 0562 will be the knife I really want. 0566 size 0560 pivot system

So what I see now that the first post was edited is that you did not re-assemble it correctly and you wish to blame ZT for your inexperience?
Hmmm.... interesting. I would suggest sending it in after calling Customer Service.

Also jtho7884 ^ vasoline will end up melting in your pocket in the right conditions as I stated above, you might want to rethink that one.

Yeah bro. I'll pretty much echo what people are saying. The previous owner must have cleaned out all the grease from the torsion bar cavity. You need to fill it back up and the rattling will stop. It happened to me like that.

The 0566 is actually very easy to tear down and put together. Maybe watching some youtube vids will help you out. Another thing to consider is your flipping technique. This is a Rick Hinderer designed framelock flipper. Certain adjustments in your deployment technique may be required.

I didnt jack anything up, i watched a youtube video on how to take it apart, so i took it apart to put the bar back in not rocket science. The bar was put in correctly, just didnt know grease was needed to stop the rattling noise. So i asked right here on bf and got an answer. Nothing is jacked up on the knife, ive just never had a knife where you need to loosten the pivot up so much for the knife to work correctly, spring assisted or not never had to do that with any knife cheap or high end. Which then causes the blade to be off center and have so much blade play, so i wouldnt say i jacked somthing up, and i dont recall ever once saying i was blaming this on zero tolerance? I beleive i said i did not have a good first impression of them. Not that this was all their fault.
