FF Fighter

21.5" overall, 17" blade

Just incredible. Without a doubt, a pure weapon. At only 24 oz, I am able to swing it with quite alot of force without overcommitting. It's still a large blade in terms of sheer area so don't over estimate it's momentum.

I would not classify this as heavy duty by any means, and I'd probably recommend it be handled with the same care as one would handle a Kobra. Not that I have owned a Kobra but I do remember one fellow that tried to cut frozen wood with a Kobra, but I digress.

I also did something that I have never done with a khukuri from H.I before... flex the blade!

Fit and finish are excellent. BIG chakma and karda, very well done.

However, the handle on my FF is not symmetrical. One side of the handle (at the buttcap) is more biased than the other. i.e one side is "fatter" than the other. A few minutes (at most) with my belt sender (unopened, still in it's original packaging) will easily correct the issue.

I am profoundly happy with this purchase. Frankly, there are enough AK's, Ganga Rams, and WWII's in this world to do chopping with. Dedicated fighters have their place too.

you set that blade down on concrete?!?!?!?!
Is you nutz?!?!??!

By the by, how DO we get that weird oil bubble-looking effect off of the blade?
It really seems stuck on there..

yes... i "carefully" set it down on my balcony. I am fully aware of the effect concrete has on cars, i mean steel.

and for you information, those oil bubbles you refer to are clearly some form of special H.I hada.

Beauty blade, Dave. Very pretty.

And despite the mini-controversy, I wish I had snagged one.

<excuses, mumbled>
"Ah, she posted 'em on a Sunday... I wasn't paying attention... besides, I was broke- had just bought that Bura Movie Model... which IS my favorite khukuri... what a beauty... no regrets... except when again will you see these FFF's.... Bill said "Debt is good"... bet that FFF is light & quick handling.... got VBGRS for cutting wood.... big ol' 20" AK too... shoulda got one."

*SNAP*
<comes out of it>

Nice pix. Congrats.

Wash the blade with dishwasher soap and hot water. That should get rid of the "bubble effect."

Until this point I hadn't really understood just how thin these blades are. Now I do.

I just coat them with Flitz and then polish them out. Takes out the bubbles and shines them up nice. Then a few drops of Rust Free rubbed in with my fingers and they're good to go.

Nice pic!

I used MAAS polish to take the "bubbles" out. MAAS is the functional equivalent of Flitz, I think.
