I am no paracord expert so I did that up real quick like just to give it something. I'd love to see what everyone else does with theirs.

Congrats! Your gonna love it.
Under the paracord it is milled out?

The width under the paracord is slightly smaller. I did a double wrap to thicken it up some.

I'm so confused. how are ganza hawks shipping before hawks ordered at blade? nothing against you. I'm glad you got your hawk but damn I been waiting a good bit longer for mine lol

either way congrats man. get out there and beat on some **** with it.

I would call the shop, I am sure they can give you an explanation. Hope you get your hawk soon.

They aren't the same model. That's why I got 1 of each and got a ganzaa sheath with it. The spikes, grip area, and butt are all different. The ganzaa KDSH is the proto version.

actually looking at that picture the spike looks like the production spike, so I guess we will see in a few days

Congrats!!! Mine should be here tomorrow. They were scheduled to be here on Wednesday, but apparently the USPS decided to put the Priority Mail package on a first class mail truck instead of a plane (based on what I was told on the phone today). :grumpy: Took them all week to make it from the Pittsburg area to Denver (w/o any tracking updates in between...).

Anyway, I'm pretty sure the ganzaaa ones are military overruns. However, Andrew's pcture shows that what we're getting are not quite the same as the ones Jerry posted pics of for the Ganzaaa (note, in particular, just how pointy the spikes are on these).

Also, the hawks up for sale now at the company store look every bit like the ones I've seen pictures of from Blade.

Anyway, this all definitely has me wondering how many different versions of the Kill Devils are out there???

Yes, I just got mine too, and the spike is not as pointy and long as it looked in the Ganza pic.. I'm kinda bummed... I'm sure functionally it's the same but that longer spike sure looked meaner. Now mine looks more like a camp hatchet.. Still love it though.. Anybody know where is a good place to find out how to do a heavy duty wrap on the handle??

With the supplied paracord I was able to do a single layer wrap around it, and then I still had enough left over to put a second layer done in the same way strider wraps their blades. It created a really filling grip for my hands. Over that I then slid a piece of bicycle inner tube like it showed in the youtube video.

When you wrap the handle wet the cord beforehand. It will allow you to wrap it tighter and when it drys it shrinks up and tightens really good :).

did a Strider wrap on mine beefy with a lot of cushion too! Cant post pictures but looks and feels great!

My ganza hawk is at the post office, until I get home to claim it.

The photo that was provided at the ganza was obviously of a stack of the original military prototypes. I believe the shape of the spike was changed following feedback from military users that a broader spike would be better for drilling. So I don't have any problems with the ganza hawks using the new design, although it would be nice to be told from the outset what was being changed (i.e. spike shape and steel).

Just picked mine up from the post office. I don't see any difference with the spike although it is clear just by looking that the Ganza hawk is actually thicker than the ones from blade-sorry no mic pics. I got one a while back with g10 from the exchange-ty Mark. The other noticeable difference you cannot see with paracord wrapped is the fact that the handle width gets smaller towards the bottom and the pry bar is also slightly different. The blade ones are the same handle width all the way-which looks nicer imho, but you wouldn't be able to tell with p-cord. Both will stick in tree's which is all I care about and both are beautiful.

As a friendly suggestion to Andrew, dont beat [explicative deleted] with it, not only will you make your Hawk smell funky, you will only end up flinging it all over the immediate area. Flinging said substance will only bring up monkey jokes and that only ends in hurt feelings and bad smelling former friends. :p

IMHO I really loved the family friendly forum that used to be, so does my daughter.

My Kill Devil Sniper Hawk arrived also. I wraped it starting from the bottom and then down again. No particular style though. It is sweet.
