Been wanting a GSO 4.1 since I first laid eyes on one, perfect blade length and overall size for me as an EDC blade and all around camp knife, as if I don't have enough that size already, but can you ever have to many knives? Bought it this morning in basically new condition over in the sales forum, I also picked up a set of the original green micarta scales off another seller as well, not really feeling the jade handles on there now. CPM-20CV blade is what I really want so it works out perfect, got a sweet spot for quality stainless, I can live with a handle swap to put it back to OG. I also have a carbon fiber kydex sheath on the way from Godspeed tactical and a large Tek Lok, super pumped to get all this candy in my hands!! Gonna be picking up the green multi cam sheath for it next. Got an almost mint ESEE 5 on the bay up for grabs to try and absorb some of that hit. Any of you got any teaser pics of your 4.1 you could spatter up here for me to lust over?:D:thumbup:

I don't have a 4.1 to take pics of . It's on my wish list too . But congrats on the new knife . I have a couple of Survive knives , love these things and it seems I'll not rest till I get a 4.1 as well lol .

Sorry I can't help with pics. Just want to say I hope your new knife is everything you hope for!

The 4.1 is on my longer wish list, but people just can't shut up about this blade =)

I'd really like to get a second hand GSO 4.1 or maybe an SK 4 some day to see what all the hype is about with this size and style of blade. Guy was really on to something with this one.

Don't forget to put pics up when yours arrives!

Thanks guys, definitely be some pics up when I get it in and all together, I must say, haven't been this excited to get anything in a while, feel like a kid again. : )

I ordered mine with the Jade Green scales with 3V, really like the knife. This is my 3rd GSO, I have a 7/7 and a 3.5 as well. Everyone of them fits my hand perfectly and feels almost weightless. I see having them until I wear out! Congrats on your score.

Thanks 1Hiker2, I've got a feeling this one won't be my last, really like the overall design and blade steels of the GSO series knives.

GSO-4.1 and SK-4 pics as requested  (I only have the brown SK4 still, had to part with the others, but all to good homes I am sure)

Thanks for posting chiral.grolim,... note to self, chickens are very brave creatures and cats like the smell of micarta, ok got it, Nice stash!!:D:thumbup:

Haha!

Wow. Why did I have a feeling that Chiral would deliver on the pic request?! Those look great.

Chiral, if you don't mind me asking, what size gloves do you wear?

7 - 7.5 in surgical gloves, that's "medium" for most commercial brands, but I tend to actually try gloves on before buying, looking for a good fit. My winter work gloves are "small" ironclads, my summer work gloves are medium.

Thanks, Chiral! That helps me judge knife and handle size a little better.

 Your welcome. A thing to note is that Guy is a small-handed lefty. I commented in my GSO-4.1 comparison review that the flare on the heel of the 4.1's handle could be obnoxious even to my hands. I ended up grinding it down on that brown SK-4 and find it much more comfortable.

Here's an intact flare:

FTR-14c modified his GSO-4.1 handle as well:

The GSO-5 & 5.1 have larger handles more suited to larger hands ;) But they're also much larger/heavier knives, less suited for outdoor EDC and hunting white-tail or smaller critters. A nice fact about detachable micarta scales is how easy they are to sand to a custom shape, just keep the dust out of your lungs.

Thanks, Chiral. I'll check out your review to get more of your thoughts on the 4.1 flare.

I have small to medium hands and I like the size/length of my ESEE 6 and large Becker handles. I think the Becker handles spoiled me with the large pommel snd swell. The GSO 5/5.1 handles seem smaller in comparison.
