My Green Beret came in today, and overall I'm quite impressed. The blade design is a perfect military function suitable for light chopping, light prying, daily suvival tasks, and certainly fighting.
Though the grip seems a bit small as my hand seems to engulf the handle. At first, I had thought to my self to be carefull with this one as my hand might slip over the hilt, or it may be knocked out of my hand if I'm careless. But now I've handled it a bit and it's starting to seem more natual.
I'm no longer in the military (Former 3rd Bn Ranger), though I like to go camping, hiking, be outdoors, and work around the yard. This seems like it will be a fine companion for a general outdoor enthusiast (along with my large Sebenza). This knive will be at home cutting hose, boxes, vines, and things that are in the way. It has a good balance, heft, feel, and it quite reminiscant of the Camillus Marine style issue knife - though of obvious better design and materials. This is what an issue knife should be.
Regarding the sheath - it looks like it would be a good military-style carry, but it's not for me. Too much velcro, too many points of failure, too many features.
I plan on ordering a plain-jane kydex sheath that can be hosed off, and is more simple.
Can someone recomend a Kydex sheath maker for my new CRK Green Beret SF knife?
Thanks all,
Terry
