for those of you that posted about my question between a d'allara and a griptilian, i finally got my griptilian in the mail today... all i can say is WOW this thing is alot bigger than i expected. The axis lock is amazing, but im clunky with it right now obviously. The blade is sharp as hell and the finish is pretty damn good as well. I got another question though about the warranty... does benchmade cover the omega springs in the axis lock if/when they break for replacement?

i've wondered that myself. I would think they would under normal use. I had a grip in ocean and pool water for 7 days without oiling it, and after some TLC everything is working great, but the omega springs are really rusted out, they work perfect though.

I'm not sure about the omega springs, but congrats on the new blade. I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

If the Omega springs break you can send the knife to BM for free replacement though it costs 5$ return shipping. They do clean and sharpen your knife while it is there though. I have yet to have one break though.

i compare my 550 to my clothes.....i dont leave the house without either of them and if i did i will be naked and lost and sick.you get the picture.enjoy

I love my benchmade. One night of playing with the axis lock and breaking the knife in and youll have it down pat. I actually do it both ways but i prefer the flick the thumb stud method. You can either hold down the axis lock and flick out the blade or you can flick the blade out with the thumbstuds. The advantage of the thumbstuds is it will more than 99% of the time deploy but sometimes if you use the axis lock it wont, depending on how skilled you are. To return the blade i always used the axis lock though.
