We adopted a little 4GB iPod Nano yesterday. What a cutie! He's the perfect playmate for the bigger iPod members of the family. One problem - there aren't any decent cases available yet for the Nano. Mine is making do with a velour slipcase for a knife.

Question: anyone here have one, and how are you carrying/protecting it?

Thanks, Collector, I have already checked out the usual sources (we have almost as many iPods in the family as knives) but almost all the ones I would be interested in are back-ordered or not yet on sale.

I was just wondering if anyone has come up with a nice 'make-do' arrangement. I have the black Nano and it scratches just by looking at it! Maybe I'll just glue together a nice leather slipcase similar to the ones I make for my small knives.

What are the dimensions of it? I wonder if one of those Nite Ize GPS holders could be modified to fit. Spec Ops makes that little splash proof PDA holster thingy.

????

I would guess that there are a few KIDS who might want to take their iPods to the beach without worrying about water or sand damage to such an expensive toy.

I think that Gizmodo.com had an article on a nice clear sheath for the Nano - worth looking there.

Apparently though, it's just...

''Update: This is likely based on a product from 3M called ScotchCal, which can be purchased online in large sheets and cut to one’s liking for use on cell phones, or whatever. It even comes in colors.. It’s often used to protect automobiles from paint and rock dings as an invisible “bra”… see Webbikeworld for more details…been protecting iPods and various tech goodies this way for years! A google search for ScotchCal will get you several hits. I’ve used decorativefilms.com. [Thanks Dan!]''
