I'm really surprised how good the fit and finish is. Better than any karda that ever passed through my hands. Really nice streaked horn handle. Not sharp so we'll have to see what kind of edge it'll take. The scabbard is a little tight but seeing how it's on my carabiner/keychain I think that's a good thing. I know khukuris aren't supposed to be "cute" but I don't know how else to describe the little guy. Looks like the Keebler Evles baked up a tiny WWII. Now I'm looking at the other "baby" khuks as potential suburban EDCs.

Mine might have been a fluke, don't know...but it is one of the hardest blades I have and took a razor edge.

No one thinks it's cute after seeing it go lengthwise through a stack of typing paper...

Those little Kagas Katnes are cool. Mine took an excellent edge and sits on the table with me now.

hehehe...

It's gonna work one of these times!

I keep my katne on the desk, and it took a nice sharp edge- was harder to sharpen than other HI stuff, they must really harden it!

Ditto that. Got one harder than a diamond sharpener. Hurts my fingers just trying; sharpening it must have something to do with Zen.

Sharpen, sharpen, sharpen, sharpen,
Why did they try so hard to harden?

Om mani padme hum;
pour me another tot of rum!
Convex grind this diamond edge;
in another life I'll grind a swedge.

:D

How many times do I have to say this? Your sharpening problems are rooted in the limitations of science. You are supposed to us "some natural way of doing it!" Or you could at least put the right kind of gravel (and clear spring water!) in your belt mounted wooden whet stone!

One of these days I'll get through to you guys! :)

very interesting....I've never noticed before. Guess I'll have to check mine out in the shop....hmmm......has anybody etched one?

wait a minute...

lengthwise?

:eek:

Thats a good blade right there!

I don't believe the natural way of doing it has to do with the right kind of gravel or spring water. What you need is the proper lubrication. Elbow grease is usually effective, or elbow bending, whichever seems to work best.

on an old grey Spyderco stone and it felt a little better. This morning I realized it was sharper than I thought. I got one of those big padded yellow envelopes at work this morning and gave the little guy a try. Went through both sides of the envelope, two pieces of paper and scored my desk. Oops.
