Well got home from work today to find out that the postman had left me a present

My kerambit and YCS karda had finally come in.

The kerambit is 9" and 9oz by Lachhu with black and white horn handle

The YCS karda is about 10 1/4" by Vim with what looks to be a satisal wood handle

Love the feel and look of the kerambit, it feels just about perfect in the hand. Have to admit though that the YCS karda is a lot bigger and heftier then I thought it would be. Heck the spine is as thick if not thicker than the KLVUK's I picked up

Here are a couple of size comparisons of them to a couple of the other blades I have which might help others in the future visualize what kind of size they are

First is with my 14" BDC

Next up is next to an 18.5" M43

Nice BDC! I did not realize BDC's have 2 fullers.
Very pretty.

How does the kerambit grip for you?

I like the steak-knife too, LOL! I want Yangdu to make a run of good forged chef's knives. A small "Farm Knife" would be pretty fine. I could see myself carving a roast beast with one of those... but it needs to be thinner than your average kuk. Carve, chop, dice ... that would do a lot.

Nice pix, thank you for sharing

Thanks GoodStuff. It is a nice BDC though I would have preferred to have a wood handle instead of the horn one. Can't wait to get the 10" BDC that is on it way

No issues with grip on the kerambit though it is a bit front heavy

A now that you mention it the karda does look a bit like a steak knife on steroids

I only got the karda

The YCS is my penultimate kuk goal.
I pestered Yangdu about it a couple of times....
The YCS is the last knife you would ever need. It has everything.
A kuk, a awl and 2 steak knives.

Just need a 20 Lb prime rib and a pit.
I bet i can make long nice slices with the kuk too.

Hey, the YCS is a dandy wedding cake cutter...I should know;)

I have always liked the accessory knives that came with the YCS. I carry mine from time to time as stand alone belt knives. Really handy:)

The Kerambit is a favorite of mine. It's a great EDC and would certainly fit the role of SD knife. It really does turn one from "potential soft target" into "Holy $*&%! He's a Raptor Man" in about 2.2 seconds:D
