I was cleaning out my room looking for stuff when I found an old Wegner SAK.
Me being a sharpening addict I decided to "touch up" the already moderately sharp edge (cut through paper, but not shaving). I pulled out my sharpening method an OLD OLD OLD Diamond Deluxe lansky set with XC C M F, and my homemade strop which I must say is awesome comprised of 3 different strips of rolled horse leather 1 with hardware store white compound (feels like the equivilent of an EEF DMT stone, and yes I use it like one) hardware store green compound (starts to get into polishing) and a bare piece (this is actually pretty course). Then I have a leather belt with HA Cro liquid, and a HA split tanned piece of bovine with Cro. I start out with XC work my way up to the fine. I was popping hairs at this point (not to impressive) so I started with the white hardware store compound, got the starting of a polish went to the green got rid of most of the scratches a couple hits on the belt then a couple goes on the bare horse butt, and then the final polishing on the HA leather with Cro on it to get my a nice looking no haze mirror.
At this point was splitting hairs with no effort at all.
I can get most of knives to catch and either cut through or split a hair with a little effort but never this easily and this clean.\
I'll post a more in depth guide if you guys want.
Edit: It's on par or sharper then the video of Knifenut widdling hair.
