...and it's better than I anticipated!

I had some high hopes built up for this La Griffe Pikal and it's exceeded them. Fits my hand wonderfully and is very secure on both forward grip and pikal. (I have some CT issues that affect my grip but even without the aid of my index finger, the knife is stable in pikal.) And just like advertised, it's stupid sharp. Had it push cutting news print about 4" away from the hold point at 90 degrees.:eek:

Can't post pics. No camera and my cell is running a custom ROM that doesn't have the camera functioning on it yet. I'll post more of my thoughst later when I have the time. Needless to say, I'm very happy.

Thanks for the kind words. I am glad to hear that you like it.

Yes Ban, I like it. Actually, I LOVE the knife! Thank you for a great design.

For my needs, the LGP is so far the best self defense knife that I have encountered, The reverse edge, combined with the Perrin-hole handle really make for a great package. Especially if you have some issues with grip strength like I do. On top of this, the execution of the knife is great. There are no sharp edges other than the cutting edge. The finger hole is slightly larger than an Emerson La Griffe and a Spyderco Swick which aids in its ease of access and deployment. And yeah, it's sharp. Stupid sharp.

Stupid sharp is a perfect description because I had a funny little incident with the knife this afternoon. I took the sheets off of my mattress to toss them in the washer and put on new ones. After getting them off, I sat on my bed to go through some Netflix Blurays I got yesterday and decided to open the packages using the LGP. I got fancy and opened them in Pikal grip. I received a text message and was checking the message when I absentmindedly set my hand on the mattress. Not pushing, or with any extra force mind you. The blade SANK completely. Instantly I know what I had done and felt like a damn dumbass. Then it kind of hit me that, "Wait... that went in really easily..." After thinking about it, I grabbed a couple of my other mainstay knives and tried the same thing. All of the points penetrated but none of them just went in like nothing was really there. I mentioned above about the newspaper cutting but this just really drove the idea home. It was literally just the weight of my hand and the relaxing of my arm that pushed it in to the bed. Luckily, the damage was covered with a bit of duct tape until I can bribe someone in to sewing the LGP gash up.:D:thumbup:

If you're thinking about picking up one of these, do it. It's simply a great knife.

Welcome to the club! If you've seen my previous threads, then you already know I love Ban's Pikals, especially the LGP! Congrats!
