I haven't had much time to play with it since I picked it up at lunch but I did have time to re-tie the lanyard. My initial impressions are just as expected. Great fit and finish, excellent lock up and centering, etc, etc. I don't know if it is going to become a favorite and finally be the knife that kicks the paramilitary 2 out of my pocket. I have had some decent knives from benchmade, ZT, other high end spydercos and none of them have been able to successfully unseat the king (of my pocket). I have high hopes for this Sebenza however. I really like the fact that it came with a nice pouch so I can carry it but it is still protected. I am a little nervous to just use the clip because I don't want it to get scratched but I know I will eventually get over that. I only had time to take a couple quick office pics and the box and birthcard are in the car. So here you go!

The bottom line is that I kinda wish I was more excited about it to be honest, hopefully it will grow on me. Don't get me wrong, it is everything that many have said is great about CRK knives. I plan on doing a cleaning tonight. Sometimes taking things apart and putting them back together give me an appreciation I wouldn't have otherwise. I imagine that will be the case here too.

Carry it and use it a bit. It'll either be your cup of tea or ...it won't. If not, you won't have a problem reselling it.

Congrats either way:thumbup:

You will appreciate it when you use it. It is a beautiful knife by the way i hope to pick up this exact same one soon. Use it and you will be in love with it. Congrats by the way.

I thought the same thing when mine arrived. I thought it was a bit stiff and was a little disappointed that it didn't seem to bring all of the "magic" with it that I thought it should.

Now, after living with it for the last month, it's been the only thing I've carried. I've grown to appreciate almost every aspect about it, and I'm glad it was designed and built the way it was. Now I can't wait to order another one (actually, the exact same model you have!)

Just use it for what it is - a finely made cutting utensil. If it doesn't grow on you, there are plenty of folks out there (myself included) who would be happy purchase it from you.

t that way when I first got my small Insingo. I have been using it for every thing all weekend and have found a real appreciation for this knife. I also found this YouTube video from this guy jdavis882 Knife Philosophy: Would I Be Happy with a Sebenza? I think he did a great job and answers a lot of questions I had. I am enjoying the blade and so far plan to eventually get another.

Ok I got home, took it apart and cleaned it. There was definitely some old dirty grease that needed to be cleaned out. That is when I caught myself starting to "get it". Then I did an easy cutting test. I cut a small salmon treat (about a half inch thick) for my 16 year old dachshund like I do multiple times every day with my para 2. I have to say, side by side it beat my para 2 in slicing those treats! (I know, realy robust test huh? You can call me ankerson jr;) Honestly though, it really is a nice knife that I am beginning to appreciate a little more. Maybe it was the anticipation. Moving on... Here are a couple more pics.

I carried it today on the clip and I have to admit, despite the extra weight, the sebenza carries better that the para 2.

Glad you're starting to like it. I bought a leather pouch for mine but still carry it on the clip(now it has beautiful wear marks and I love it even more).
If you ever decide you don't like it.. My birthday is coming up in October ya know? Lol. Just kidding. Use it and enjoy it. I love my Sebenza more and more every day.

Great looking knife. The insingo is nowhere near my type of preferred blade style, but its really growing on me lol.

Congrats on the fine knife.

May people, including myself are underwhelmed when you get a CRK. But one has to use it, for some time, to start to like it in my experience.

I agree, Marthinus. I think underwhelmed is a good description on my feelings when I opened the box but I still really liked it. Now it is really growing on me. I left the para 2 at home today. Thats a start!

As you know, mine arrived today, pretty new folder, birthday card says August 13th, 2012 so only a short time ago it was way up in the Northwest woods and now in the NorthEast of PA ;)

While some only see it as a good food prep, if you eye down the center line, you'll notice that the tip of the knife is almost centered with the handle, so that helps for straight type thrusts, if one has a need for such things :)

Enjoy that folder sir!

Quick update: I get it now. That didn't take long;). It is smooth as silk and solid as a rock. Perfect. The pm2 has a worthy co-king (of my pocket).
