A while ago I email Will asking him where I could find a Talon. He mentioned a few places and then told me about the Knife Center of the Internet having a limited run of special Cuda Talons. A bit smaller than their normal run (3.2" blade) but in Jig Bone and a special cape buffalo sheath from South Africa. See the knife Here.
The knife actually looks better in person. The jig bone and the nickel silver pins are very well done.
The knife is absolutely beautiful and it really does remind me of Rob's Cetan's. They did a great job with this knife. The grind is wonderful and the jig bone is a mirror image of itself on each side. To me the OAL of 7.2" and a blade length of 3.2" is perfect. This actually fits my hand better than the Pikuni that Rob made though I still love that knife.
Another classy thing Camillus did was put Rob's stamp on the right side of the blade. This knife looks to me just like a handmade custom. The blade has a hand rubbed appearance and isn't beadblasted (thank God!)....and I love fixed blades with exposed tangs. The knife is very sharp and though I haven't cut anything other than sail twine so far it looks like a winner. I will carry and use it for the next few days and show share the results. This has to be the sharpest production knife out of the box I have ever seen....and in talonite!
The sheath is wonderfully made. It would rival one of Gary Graley's sheaths. I mean it. I have 7 or 8 of Gary's sheaths and I do not think he would mind me saying that. The leather grain pattern is stunning. It is both soft and durable. Something I haven't seen or felt before in a production knife sheath. I will try to get a digital picture of the sheath for you all to look at. I was very impressed. The inside of the sheath has this brownish-light purple shade to it. Very classy looking. Smells good too!
Thanks for letting me share.
