So I got my new 14 which right out of the box was slicing paper into thin strips, and I tested out the paracord for wearing it around my neck ( im not sure about it, but like the "option" of having a neck knife ), and my 3 yr old wants to hold it. So with close supervision, he gets to hold the knife. He looks up with enthusiasm and asks, "Can I have it?". See, the gateway Becker drug even works on the younguns, too. And just so you know, he doesn't get the knife.....yet. We'll wait a few years.
Do any of your kids have a jonesing for your knives?

Yupp! My 7yrs old son is really in to carving wodden sticks...
He get to use my BK14 when I'm around, but I'm planning to get him his own first knife this summer for his birthday...

My 11 year old step son had to earn it with his tote 'em chit in scouts before he got one. He now has his very own SAK and the legendary Buck 110. He gets bigger ones as he advances in rank in the scouts. He has been eyeing my 14 as well though, so that might be on the short list for him.

Absolutely! I have a 4yo little girl, and every time she sees me reading Tactical Knives, or looking at pics here on the forum, she'll comment on the pics and tell me how pretty the knives are. She loves to hold them (under my watchful eye of course) and she'll smile as big as a 4yo can. It's good to start kids young!

...anyway, congrats on your new '14. It's a great little knife.

The other day I was arranging my gear and had the Khuk out in the living room, my four year old comes up, kisses the handle and says he likes my big knife, I thought it was pretty awesome, I laughed, my wife was not so happy when I told her about it.

:D They do funny stuff!! :D

My son likes to hold them also. He says "can I hold liieeeetle one, peeeeeese"? as he squints his eyes, pinches his fingers to indicate small, and turns his head @ an angle. He's 2.5 yrs and his favorite to hold is the kabar ldk. His face lights up when he holds this mini knife.

I also ask his opinion on which knife to buy, and he always recommends the" big one".

yup. 4 years old and loves knives and guns. Those are he's he's holding, but can't have them just yet.

My little boy loves knives too. But not as much as he loves big giant bad huge mean big SHOTGUNS! (he will be 3 in July)

My little boy just bought a BK2. Oh wait a minute, he's 23. Damn I'm old.

My 8yr old, Shyann, likes her Pink Izula pretty well. She uses my BK14 also. Either one is fine by me.

My son has a job, a knife addiction and an ever growing collection. Here's some of his stuff (think the BK7 is becoming his favorite, btw - well after the KaBar Mule)...

Thanks for the pics of your kids, guys. They are true gifts, and the knives, too. Gingivitis- you got some knives that I have, and some knives that I want! Moose- the izula is on my list, and btw, my daughter has the Dozier pink folder ( she's 6), she specifically told me, " I want a pink knife WITH A CLIP". Ha!
