Got my new ESEE 4 with G10 Slabs!

After a long week (only long to me, 5 days in reality), my order from Dale got here! Wuuhuu! My nice new ESEE 4 with orange tiger stripe G10 slabs. Sweeeeettt! :D Pics below! A few observations: the grips is now a bit thicker, which feels great in the hand but is noticable during carry; the grips cover the pommel which I didn't realize, but that's ok; the backstrap lines up a bit different with the new grips, no flush per se but still nice. I'm really happy with it and it is razor sharp. It looks great and I love G10 over micarta only because it doesn't dirty as easy. The only really strange thing is the slabs have a funky odor. :confused: Guess it's the smell of fresh cut G10. I'm assuming it will dissipate with time. It almost looks to nice to use, but I will. :) Now if my new sheath would get here from Jeff I'll be able to really carry it! Another great kudos to ESEE folks and Dale for great service! I also got my new ESEE fire starter which I'll have to get out and play with soon! Now my two new ESEE HESTs should be here soon and I'll be really happy (I know they're DPx now, but mine are ESEE)!

Tattoo, that odor is the topsecret G-14 classified addiction formula Jeff & Mike have mfg. into all the ESEE handles . . . . penetrates thru all surfaces known to mankind, no way to stop it, no known antidote . . . . don't fight it, only makes it worse, the harder you fight it, the more knives it will make you buy . . . . . :D
Glad you got your knife, I have a "6" that is leaving Howe's Knife Shop this morning on it's way to Ohio, can't wait for Tuesday . . . :thumbup:

That would explain why after I got it on my hands I didn't sleep all night and had to come back to work today. Those magic fumes must be slightly toxic and kept my brain pinging all night!
 
Just ordered one myself. (with a nice sheath from the shotgunners) Debating having it shipped to Fiji, I just don't want it "lost" in customs as many things tend to do abroad. Congrats on your score, can't wait to see the pics.

Great knife, great choice of slabs (any "Dale Sclae" = Good.) I know you're not new to the forums but I feel I must explain one of the most important rules here.

Rule #1: Pics or it didn't happen.

Ok, took it with my phone. Not a great photo, but you get the idea. Told ya it happened! :) Notice how it goes so well with my paracord bracelet. Oh and did I mention Longhorn colors! :) Great stuff! Now we just need some custom slabs for the 5!

I have the black scales from Dale. I like that they cover the pommel, at least for various grips. I've wondered if a day will come that I wish I had an exposed pommel.

I thought the same, but they have a lifetime warranty. So if you have to pommel through a window to save someone's life, I think you'll get a new set for free.
