This was one of my Christmas presrents. Gotta say that I was skeptical. I thought that this would look gay but this thing is built like a tank and comfy to carry too. Heres what I have in there so far and I have loads of room left over! Definately Suggest one of these. I also have a Nikon Coolpix 5700 digital camera on the way and that will go in there also. I tried to take the one pic in the mirror to show how it carries.

I also recieved a Fatboy (in black) and a PUG from my fiancee and both pieces are great and just plain rock-solid! Here's what I'm carrying:
-PUG wallet
-32oz Nalgene bottle
-Surefire G2
-Surefire E1
-Fisher bullet
-small Decorated Sebenza in a leather slip sheath
-Coach change wallet
-Coach business card carrier
-chapstick
-a tin of altoids
-my cell
-my pager
-hand-held Mattel classic football game
-keys

This bag is just plain awesome.

Even my grandfather thought it was a neat idea, something I definately didn't expect. The real test will be passing it by my fiance's stepdad.

Who's got the best price on a Versipack these days. I had one but have passed it on to a friend deployed overseas. I'd like to replace it but the shop I picked it up from is out and hasn't decided whether ot not to restock them. Any suggestions?

I haven't seen anyone that has lower prices than Maxpedition's MSRP. :(

I've got the Thermite, and it is awesome! I think the FatBoy might be too big, but I should try it. I also got the Condor backpack from Christmas and it kicks @$$!

What a great piece. This is what I have EASILY fit into this sucker:
PDA/phone combo
small first aid kit (in waterproof fishing box) aprox 4x6"
CPR breating mask
latex gloves
Moleskin notebook (3x5")
Fisher Space pen (expandable bullet)
Sure Fire E2
Inova X5
Leatherman WAVE
Leatherman WAVE tool adapter kit
Zippo
Bic mini
Leatherman Squirt
Space capsule
Hand sanitizer
Lip stuff
hand lotion
hand wipes (for the kids)
2 Sharpie markers
I think that is about it. I still have room for my Colt Commander and an extra mag if needed and am planning on adding (in time) some OC spray for certain days.

GREAT piece!

I just ordered a Proteus from Maxpedition but I wanted a Fat Boy pack. My concern is that it would get in the way of my pistol which I carry on my right hip. I wish that Maxpedition would make a mirror image one for left side carry since it would be perfect to carry my daily sundries and for callouts. I know they say you can wear it on either side but it appears to be clearly designed for right side carry.

Keyser,
I know it seems that way but I've carried it both ways VERY comfortably. When one of my shoulders gets tired, I switch and barely feel the difference.

Dumb Question? How are you supposed to wear the FatBoy? Can it be worn around the waist like a fanny pack or is it supposed to be worn from the shoulder? If so, do you slip it over your head and hang it from the opposite side or hang it from the shoulder similiar to the way a woman wears a purse?

Doesn't work as a fanny pack, you wear it like, uh, a woman wears a purse. It's tactical-enough looking that, IMO, you end up looking less like a European fancy-boy than you do a tactical poseur. Opinions will vary on that though. I really like my Fatboy.

I don't know if you even have to look like a tactical poser. I think it looks more like a camera carrying case than anything. Hardly European "fancy boy".

I've been debating one of these for a few weeks, now.
This place apparently has all the colors (assuming they're in stock-don't know anything about them):link
Price is the same everywhere I've looked.

 :( :) :D I just HAD to get a black one now and it arrived this afternoon... er... yesterday afternoon that is. I have a thermite versipak in black, but the Fatboy is even MORE USEFUL:eek:
I don't carry a gun, but I can carry all my Knut gear and a paperback (Virtual Light by Gibson if you wanna know) too! I love mine, and it really has all sorts of features that pictures and descriptions don't do justice to. It's like it was made for knife, flashlight, gadget and gear freaks!!! Oh wait... it is isn't it?!?! If Indiana Jones was cyberpunk, this is what he woulda rocked.

I can't see the pics.:(

I'm wanting one of the Fatboys! (and i dont mean the rap group from the 80's)

Tell me how I can see the pics so I will be that much closer to spending money!
