I didnt have any plans on getting a Needs Work....but after handling one at a knife shop, I found that it has a pretty nice feel in the hand.
The pictures online just didnt do it justice.
I am extremeley happy with having one now..... I let a few of my freinds check it out, now they want one!!
For $29 I might get another one!!

The Shallot.....sweet knife.....nice feel, definately a heavy piece.....I wont be carrying this one....I have it just for collection......definately a sexy knife!!!
Cant wait for the Rainbow shallot and the black Shallot!!!
And any other variations of it.

extremelean, I also bought a Needs Work, just for work, but this knife is growing on me. It has a very positive opening speed safe, has a nice click when it opens. and a finger choil, which I really like on a knife. I like the handle even though some reviewers don't like it. And it is easy to touch up with my Sharpemaker. I am mulling over having the blade 80% serrated by a knife shop in town here. They say it will cut stuff better. The only thing I don't like about it is the little tiny clip.:( I have to angle it forward to get it to clip in my back pocket. I've checked other Kershaw knives and none have a three screw longer type clip which would be an improvement, imo, other than that I really like this knife!

YES.....heavy is subjective.......I think Im just comparing it to the Needs Work...after handling it then the Shallot, the Shallot just has a heavier feel.
But all in all you are correct....it is a pretty lightweight package for the sexy piece that it is.
I guess i am starting to be spoiled by lightweight knives...lol.
I'll get over it!!!......especially with all the cool stuff Kershaw is coming out with, cant stop collecting now, I need my fix!!!

I really like my Needs Work. Like you, I didn't plan on buying it. I was torn between a Spyderco Delica with a ZDP-189 blade and the SG2 Blur. But after feeling it in my local sports store, I came home with it. I got the only one they had too.

i have a needs work and like it very well. a few weeks ago i loaned it to a friend who is a police officer to check out, he liked it also. easy to sharpen too.

Funny how pictures of items dont always do them justice.......goes to show, you just cant judge a book by its cover.
