Just got it today. I'm surprised that it is heavier than a large annual. Makes sense that the wood weighs less than the Ti though...but surprised me nonetheless.

This sucker is solid. Very cool. Thought it was also interesting to see how different the grinds are between the two. Also has about 90% lockup. Didn't expect that either.

Is it normal to have a little lock stick on a new regular? I can live with it. Maybe it will break in.

Lock stick is not normal.
I would take that thing apart first thing. Clean it up and re-assemble and tighten everything really good. I bet the lock up will improve and flick it once of course.

Nope, lockstick at 90% is not good at all. Like Matt suggested, you may to take it apart and see if that helps out. There's another thread here on the CRK forum that addresses the late lock up issue.

There are no "tricks" that are going to cure it. If the lock stick is bad, you may just have to send it to Idaho for a fix-up.

How pristine is it if it has 90% lockup? Most of the Regulars started out with earlier lockups than the current Sebenzas.

Well, I took it apart (it was bone dry), cleaned and lubed...that brought it back to about 80%. Perhaps it needs to go see Mr. Chris. The stick isn't terrible, but it isn't smooth like my Annual. The Annual releases with no hangup at all. That's normal, right?

I'm gonna keep it. I did notice that the only email between me and the seller that didn't get returned was the one from me asking about the lockup. Lesson learned. Also noticed that in the 90 minutes I've owned the knife, the nice blue thumb stud now is worn on the tip after 50 openings. Not gonna say what I think about that.

Even if my suspicions are correct...the price was still fair. The edge didn't have a consistent angle from tang to tip on either side. It does now thanks to my wicked edge. Definitely my knife now. :)

Still pretty awesome. I'm going to look for that lock stick thread. Thanks guys.
