Good morning all,

After patiently waiting a few weeks, I finally was able to pick up
a Small and Large, Double lugged, Sebenza's at the ECCKS in
Jersey City yesterday, form TNK. :D

Now for the "newbie" observation.

The Large 21 opens "smooth as butter", however the Small one
is completely the opposite (i.e. rough). Is there anything that I
can do to eliminate the roughness? :(

Why would the actions be completely different new out of the box?

Much Thanks in advance for your advise and assistance.

I'll post pictures on Monday.

All the Best!

Maybe the small came dry or dirty. I would take it apart and clean it and lube it back up. Should be perfect then.

is it rough as in gritty? Or smooth, but with more resistance?

Come to think of it, definitely "gritty".

.

Will do. The only problem is that I do not have any CRK Grease as of yet
to use during reassembly.

Could I use an alternate in the interim, until I purchase some?

Much Thanks for your Help.

All the Best!

Could someone please help this CRK newbie out and advise
me of a lubricant that I could use temporally, until I order
some official CRK Lube this week.

Much obliged for your help.

All the Best!

I was so mad I couldn't get off to go. I live in the town next to jersey city for crying out loud!

Did you ever correct the roughness with the Small Sebenza? I encounter the same with my regular Sebenza that was sitting in a display case. I'll try another cleaning, and it that doesn't work, I'll send it in so it can be corrected.

my small classic was a little slow, and got gritty pretty quickly (was running it dry for about a week). then i threw in some tri-flow and haven't had a problem since.

before i could never imagine of flicking it with my thumb, but i can do that easily now if i wanted to. it is smooth and only when opened slowly is there some resistance (but it is still smooth).

i know that the grease is pfte based (or so i am lead to believe) so teflon based lubes should work alright afaik
