got my new sog, now a few more questions

well now that i got it a few questions. If i remove the knife blade it is not a knife any more, right?? I am still in school(one more year) and last year i removed the blade from my gerber(oh what FUN) and had no problems carrying it. I plan to do this with the sog.. And now i got to remove the sog knife blade. Now, what would work good for a spacer?? my gerber i just used a couple small washers. Would sog give me spacers?? Or what would you reccomend?? I can't stand to be with out tools..

You know, it would be better if you take your tool along to the neighbourhood DIY hardware store. As I am sure there will be qualified assistants who could give you the right working parts at a price that best suits your budget.

Besides, you normally get to try it out first the store before paying for anything, right? ;-)

You can also call SOG's customer service department. They have spacers that are used in their tools and have been known in the past to send them out free of charge (at least I used to). Their number is: 888.SOG.BEST.
 
Ron is of course absolutely right, in his time at SOG-K there wasn't a time where he couldn't fix anything ;-)
Just as I am sure the folks currently over at SOG-K's customer service dept. are too.
