Got the plain satin finished blade with black handle. Super smooth opening. Super sharp out of the box. Everything I expected. Swapped the pocket clip for tip down, but I noticed there's some kind of loc-tite or oil residue left on the G10 from the factory under the clip. Tried getting rid of it with regular washing, then tried alcohol, can't get it off. Anybody have any tips on this? Not a big issue as it's not sticky or anything and it's only visible in certain lighting, but I'm a little bit anal about my knives so if there's a way to clean it off then I'm all for it.

I've noticed that too with G-10. I'm not sure what it is, I've never bothered to try to get it off, but i'd give rubbing alcohol a chance to see if that gets it off.

Already tried rubbing alcohol and also nail polish remover and dish soap. No effect. Not that its a big deal, oh well. The knife is a user anyway. :D

The spot in question is actually where the peaks of the G10 have been pushed down by the clip. There's nothing you can do about it really. Unless you want to sand the G10, but then you lose grippiness.

Edit: Does it look like this?

So there are a few things I did to mine to get it perfect for my tastes. The first thing I did, as stated above, was switch the pocket clip for tip up carry. Then I resharpened it so that it's about 15 degrees per side and gave it a very light stropping to smooth it out which also gave the edge a slight convex. Lastly, I once again removed the pocket clip and gave the side of the knife that rubs on my pocket a bit of scrubbing with a brillo pad to help wear down the texture just enough to get it to slide in and out of my pocket just the way I like it to. Still very grippy, too. Love it, got it just how I like it! :D

I've gotten motor oil in my tenacious before and had brake cleaner on hand. Worked great and didn't damage the g10. I feel it's fine to use on the knife in general as long as it's not being used for food prep.
