Now I see what you guys were raving about! This is a heck of a knife for under $100. I don't know of any others at this price point using S30V and a high end lock (which is why I ended up with one). The lock was a bit loose (vertical play) when I got it, but it's gone away after me playing with it for the last 24 hours. :D It had the copper tang and the inside of the Spyderhole was coppery too, so I took it apart and polished it with my Dremel. The copper film came off very easily and I was even more impressed with it's construction after having it in pieces. I'd also forgotten how sharp these leave the factory. Absolutely amazing at this price point. Now I've got an itch for the full size Military; the bug bites again. Thanks Spyderco!

Sigh...I'm jonesin for a para..
I have trade posts up everywhere!!

I have one in my hand as a passaround and it is the cat's whiskers!!
You're right RR a true beauty!

What is this about copper color stuff?
Tom

Tom, it's referenced in this thread. It wasn't a big deal, it's just that the inside of the hole and the tang had a copper-colored film on them. At first I thought it was mild corrosion until I read the above thread. It polished off real easy so no worries. :)

I got my Para-Military too. Excellent knife! The opening is very smooth and there is absolutely no blade play. I also have a Military, but for me personally it was a bit too big for EDC. Even the big Military is very comfortable to carry in your pocket, but it's not something I'd like other people to see. The Para-Military's size for me is exactly right. Below I also posted a pic of the Para-Military together with its 'smaller brother' the Dodo.

Congrats! Excellent choice.

I've had mine for 1.5 months now as my EDC and no inklings from my brain to even THINK about switching it out. :D Usually I like to rotate in my other blades but sad to say, they're going to be collecting some dust for a loooong time.

It's still razor sharp too - it decided to bite my brother in law when I gave it him to try out. He didn't quite think about where his fingers were when he was trying to close it. Oooops!

Like my Para, love that flat grind, cuts everything. Just the right size.
You know the only sharpening I've done is on the Sharpmaker, no need to re-profile yet.

Boy, wish I had a BLACK Dodo. Have a BLUE.
