I just opened my new PPT -- what a cool, chunky little tank of a knife. In particular I want to point out the excellence of the fit/finish - this is my first Taiwan Spydie and it won't be the last. I can't find a single flaw. Perfect grind, centering, finish etc. Seriously guys... flawless. I don't say this lightly and mean no offense to my beloved Golden Crew - but its up to Golden fit/finish standards.

Got mine the other day, and I am impressed with this little tank of a knife. Mine is also near flawless, great fit and finish.

Here's the one Spyderco was kind enough to provide us for the passarounds:

Indeed! I have a carry PPT and a spare - both perfect in F&F ;)

Just received my PPT Cruiser,a 1/2hr ago, and yes, I love it. The blade shape, ergonomic handle and the beastie build, makes dc happy :D
I wasn't going to go through purchasing one,but after Reeek posted pic's and description I couldn't hold off the temptation.

The PPT is a really nice knife

I gave the PPT a good utility workout this weekend pruning rose bushes and a fig tree, opening bags of mulch, cutting down boxes and cutting open plastic pots. It has two particularly comfortable hand holds -- one holding it with the index finger in the deep finger cutout and one with the middle finger in the same cut out w/the index finger choked up the the blade choil. Using it in both these manners shows how thoughtful the placing of the very large area of jimping is on the spine. I also appreciated the grip of the machined g10 with sweaty/dirty hands. From a utility use standpoint, its a keeper.

bammann, Thanks for the utility review, ashamed to say, mine is still in the admiring stage. I have many Spydies, including both of the Sage models.
I must say, this PPT is my kinda knife, the blade shape is great, and I love the heaver build.

I was really psyched how well it worked out for a daily user. I know its designed with a "tactical" approach in mind but I am finding it very practical. I won't carry anything I can't use on a daily basis. You can apply a *lot* of force cutting something by choking up and placing your thumb on the jimping -- it really inspires confidence to say sheer off thick suckers from the base of a tree or to open some tough packaging -- also with the ffg is a real slicer.

You're totally right about the design intent versus the practicality it offers for EDC. I too find this knife works VERY well for general EDC use. Even something about the leverage ratio when opening it. The opening leverage seems to be at a perfect balance between detent and ease of opening. When the opening resitance finally lets go, the PPT just flies open.

It really is a nice knife. I’ve been EDCing my PPT since I got it a couple of weeks ago. It carries well and the wide flat grind makes it a super cutter. I tried using it while wearing gloves today and it was surprisingly easy to manipulate; no problems with opening, unlocking, or closing. I think it’s great as a practical utility knife.

Reeek -- I noted the same thing about opening -- you apply pressure up a very crisp break point then it flies open when the detent goes - its pretty cool.

I am about to get mine but I actually bought it because it looked like the grip was similar to an SNG's in that you can choke up on it (which is my fav part about my SNG). Glad to hear that others are having a good experience with this knife. Mine comes in tomorrow!

Looking forward to hearing your opinion . . .

So I have my first criticism of an otherwise perfect product -- the pocket clip could be a bit sturdier. I bent it standing up from a chair -- it caught a bit and bent. Granted, I am the king of bent clips but I did catch myself and release it -- seemed to bend easier than say milli or para clips.... Other than that, still love it.
