Thank you all in helping me (had two other post's asking questions).
My choice was the Silver Alox Cadet and it is a great pick. I also ordered a plastic Red Bantam(wanted the TP and Tweez), it came in two days before, also very pocketable.
I was suprised how two layers of tools(in the Cadet) can be so thin, you guys said the Alox was thin, but was still taken aback. The tools open easily, love that, had my bad nail days with some slipjoints. The Cadet is going into my pocket right after I reprofile the edge and will stay there for a while, it's a great backup knife. I will be useing the file for my nails.

........and will be getting an Electrician :D since they are so thin.

That´s a good start with SAKs. I´m sure you´ll like the knife. :)

Kind regards

You're off to a great start in sak's. It's hard to go wrong with alox, and hard to wrong with a sak. I know what you mean by easy to open. I have some arthritis in my fingers, and there's some knives on the market I can't open no matter what. Yet with Victorinox's fine fit and finish, they are so predictable I've never had a bad one yet.

Carl.

Great choices - I'm sure you'll love 'em both.

I use my Spartan almost daily and never go fishing without my Huntsman.

The Cadet is a great EDC SAK, love it. If you like thin SAKS, there are also the Ambassador and Executive. The Executive has become one of my favourite SAKs.

Great choice! and well come to addiction!... dont worry, your wallet wont cry haha..

The Electrician is nowhere near as thin and light as the Alox Cadet. It is similar to the Pioneer. It's also notably longer.

I don't think you'll be disappointed, but it is definitely a heavier-duty knife than the Cadet. Both the scales, blades, and implements are thicker.

You know, I'm looking for a Cadet, but with the Cellidor scales. They don't make it. I think I'll settle for a Sportsman, and maybe re-profile the can opener a bit to fit better in a #2 Phillips. It won't be quite as thin, but I can't give up my T&T. ;)

Yes, it can be addictive. You start by trying to find the perfect SAK to compliment your tactical folder. (TF) After a while, maybe you'll realize that you don't really NEED a TF, and you think of which combinations of tools will be perfect for each situation. Before you know it, you'll have a dozen or more.

Already, I think you can see that these are GREAT values, compared to TFs. So why not have one for every occasion? ;)

Once I got more than about 3 of them, I started leaving them around. I've got two Bantams in two different toolboxes. I think I'm going to leave my vintage Explorer in my desk drawer at work, and maybe buy a new Explorer Plus.

I've got a Hiker and a book on whittling on the way. I figure that is a good combo, because I can cut a section from a dead branch and whittle with the same knife. I may grind off the screwdriver tip on the can opener so that it is just one smooth curve, and make it a push-cutting knife blade.

Since they're so inexpensive, we can even feel free to re-purpose some tools completely with a file, grinder, or Dremel.
