Hey guys, the UPS man just dropped off my larg reg. Sebenza from www.1stopknifeshop.com. Those guys are great. Anyway, I could not wait to get this knife into my hands, so after ripping apart about ten feet of wax paper I had my wish. I was not happy.

I held it in my hand, and the first thing I thought was how heavy it was. It seemed to not fit my hand and the blade action was tight. Unlocking it pissed me off farther, the lock is soooo stiff that I needed two hands to unlock it. At first....

I set it down and started looking at the other things in the box. 1 stop sent me a free Tuff Cloth, which was very nice. I got reading the papers that came with it. It was born Aug. 24 2001. After about ten min. I took out my benza agian. This time it felt different... It seemed to fit my hand better then 10 min. ago!!!!! I took out the Tuff Cloth and coated my blade. Took out my teflon oil and lubed up the pivot. Let it all dry and tried it again.

Perfect is all I can say about it.;) It feels soooo smooth and solid. It is the perfect size, not to long but long enouth. It is a very simple knife, and carries well in my pocket. I cant feel it in in there. The false edge, the thumb stud, and the grip on top of the blade look very well built. I love the look of the hand grind.

I still dont know if this knife is worth $325.00 but it is the coolest knife I own. I feel like I cant let it out of my sight. I keep it with me at all times now. I cant wait till my next one, maybe a small classic....

Wait till you need to cut stuff, the blade really sinks deep and just cuts away, nicely!

Congrats and enjoy, start saving up for a wood inlay!

I think your first impression of your Sebenza was right on the money. They are highly over rated crap
knives. I'll give ya a hundred bucks for it.Only cuzz I feel sorry for ya and hate to see anybody get screwed.Ok a $102.37 I'm in a generous mood.:D

I'm kinda new to this Sebenza thing Toolin but as you now know, they are outstanding folders.

Ok $106.22 final offer.
Enjoy!

While my first impression was not what your was, I know the feeling.

Nothing is worse than getting worked up for days waiting on a knife just to be let down. When I get more than one in a package I save the best for last so that I'm not disappointed right away :) Then I do what you did, I put it away, wait a while and then look again, it's like a ritual.

The only knives that does not happen with are the Reeve's, when I open a new Reeve within 30 seconds I'm usually twirling it by the lanyard and swinging my hips like a Chippendale with a G-string. (Did you ever see Chris Farley on Saturday night live doing the Chippendale try outs?) :D

Anyway, I would bet that is the only time your new baby will ever let you down. You will find that they just grow on you like a virus.

One will last you forever, but who needs just one...

Congrats, Toolin! I have the same model, bought used, so already perfect in action. I was pretty dubious about my purchase, and originally thought I'd probably try to sell it and make a profit since I got such a great price.

I've carried it every day I've owned it, except when I was missing a screw for a few days. On the knife. A screw on the knife.

I just love how much it feels like a fixed blade knife!!! Everything on it just looks and feels so well built. I slept with it last night....

I was kidding Skag. Of course they are excellent knives. I just contacted Anne about becoming a dealer. I would like to have a site where CK nuts can go to select wood inlays and other high end unique Sebs at will vs having to wait a yr.None of this will transpire over night due to the backlog
but I think people would be interested and at the very least I would get to have a hugh box full of the " Best folders in the world" I hope that answers your question.

Jeffery, I thought you were kidding!;) There is probibly some nut out there that does think sebs are overated junk! What I'd say to him is I'd like to see you design and build a better knife!!! I think you have a good idea also and I'd buy one from you, waiting is the worst!
