I just got a buck 110 today, using a gift cert. I had from christmas. It is my second buck that I've owned, the first being a "prince" model that my father purchased for me when I was 10 or so years of age....That one was my first knife, and it's too bad I lost it the next year. I really wish I still had that knife.

anyway, i've wanted a 110 as it is one of THE American knife designs, and as such commands a place in any collection. It might not be as easy to open as my spyderco's, or as sharp as my microtechs, but for $40 bucks it is a tough american knife and even comes with a nice sheath. too bad it's black. I wish it came with the tan leather.

that said, who makes a nice custom sheath for the 110?

CH, Buck may just exchange the black sheath with a tan one. Pete's Custom Shoppe has three sheath options to choose from for the 110 at no extra charge. (Black, Tan and ? I forget the other. Cordura, I think.) For a dollar or two postage, it would beat the price of a custom sheath. Worth a try.

Yes, the Buck model #110 is THE knife design. It has been copied or imitated in every country that makes knives and it is the most imitated knife of all time. Even the copies have been copied: Schrade changed the bolster design on their imitation (the LB7)and now you see Chinese and Pakistani copies of the Scrade LB7!
