Friday afternoon the UPS man dropped off my new BK2. I've held them before, but forgot how thick 1/4" is! Sheath was crazy tight out of the box. Was hard to remove the knife, but after drawing the knife a bunch of times it's getting easier. Ordered mine from Amazon and I can't find a thing wrong with it.

Is it just me, or are the Kabar handles a little different then the Camillus ones? I ask because my new BK2 feels a little different in hand then my Camillus made BK9. Different in an almost better way that I can't describe. I noticed the same with with the BK5 from the pass around.

Last year someone loaned me their BK2 so that I could make them a sheath. I never really thought about owning my own (except for making sheaths for others) or carrying one. Now that I've had a chance to handle mine and think about it, I can see how useful it is as a camp/hunting companion. My thoughts on carrying it have changed. Now I'm actually thinking about adding it to my carry rotation and I'm trying to decide what style of leather sheath I want to carry it in. If I can find someone to go camping with this coming weekend, I'll give it a good work out and let you all know how it goes. And if camping doesn't happen, there is always yard work. ;)

I don't own a BK2, but I use my RC5 a ton. At first I wasn't sure if it would really be that useful, but the more you think it won't work, the more it wants to prove you wrong. ;)

I got to play with the 2 a little yesterday, they're pretty neat, make sure you go use her well and take some pics!!

Score! Now, are you gonna build yourself a super tough sheath to go with it?? :D

Did someone mention Kool Aid?

Thanks guys! The knife saw a little use Wednesday when I went hiking up the canyon. Cut some 1/4" thick to 1" thick gren branches with it. Then yesterday I used it to slice up some boxes for the burn pile. It came really sharp! :)

its about time you got one...

Now go chop down utah for me

LOL!! Come on down and help me. ;)

Score! Now, are you gonna build yourself a super tough sheath to go with it?? :D

I'll be making it a heavy duty sheath in the next few weeks. Other peoples sheaths come first. :grumpy: ;)
