Came today right before I left for work, so I stuck it in a sheath I had for another folder, and took it along. Used it to cut some hose, paper, and cardboard.
What a great little knife! It's smooth as butter, but rock-solid, looks good, but business-like, too. My non-knife-people coworkers were very impressed, but immediately handed it back as if they were afraid of dropping it after asking the price.
The factory edge wasn't spectacular, but five strokes per side on the edges of the Sharpmaker's white stones, and five more on the flats have it popping hair.
I've read plenty about Sebenzas, but had never really checked them out. Wish I hadn't waited so long. The fit and finish are very impressive-shoot, everything about this knife is impressive.
You know, I wouldn't mind a having a large one, too

My small, while sharp, wasn't as sharp as my large (which is the sharpest knife I have ever seen from a factory). I also touched it up (small after it got dull) on a Sharpmaker and it's maybe just a tad sharper than from the factory.

The small is going to be my user knife for many years to come.....and if it finally poops out, I'll just send it back for refurbishing! Excellent!

Congrats on your purchase, the sebenza just can not be beat. I use mine everyday.

Strange, as every one I received, that was NIB, came very sharp. But then all knives I have ever had needed to be sharpened at one time or another, just like sharpening I guess..

Glad to hear you got one, I just added the small Classic to my collection of Chris Reeve knives, very sweet blade shape, pointy and the handle has a nicer guard imho...but the small Wood Inlay is still my favourite one right now...

Gary,
It came with a polished edge that cut pretty well, but it didn't shave. 10 strokes total per side, maybe a minute invested to get it popping hair-I'm not complaining. It's seen a pretty good bit of use this week, and still shaves cleanly. My first BG-42 blade, and I think I'm really going to like it.
Need to get with you about a sheath next week...
