Hi all! Got my Spydie StarMate from a trade(Thanks Joel!)today and it was beautiful! The CPM440V satin finished blade and grind are very good since it's a production piece, Kudos to Spyderco for that! The StarMate's overall built is good but it would be perfect if(IMHO) it had double liners. The size is right, just a tad smaller than the Military(Yes, I have that too!

) but it rides comfortably in my pocket and would be sufficient for emergency or self defense purposes too. The Serration on the StarMate is larger than usual i've come to notice but i have no complain on that. I think it's a great daily folder! BTW, I like to complement Spyderco for adding the "Terzuola" emblem cause it REALLY does add class to the whole package. It's definately a knife worth buying!

Hi, Keninshiro. Congratulations on your choice! I consider my StarMate to be the closest to the ultimate pocket knife that I have seen, up to and including the Sebenza at three times the price. I got mine last summer and my affection for it has only grown with familiarity.

Hi Hugh,

It is indeed a nice knife! The more i played with it, the more i understands it's design. Spyderco went through a lot in producing this fine cutting machine and not forgetting Terzuola for the excellent design. If i had the money, i would get a custom "Star Fighter"......ENJOY!

I got one about a month ago. Such a great knife, but too bad I had to send it for warranty service. Now if only Spyderco would hurry up and finish fixing the liner lock adjustment, I would actually get to handle, use and appreciate this fine piece...

Minor hassles aside, for a bigger folder the Starmate is hard to beat. It's amazing how a blade of its size and thickness fits into such a thin and light handle. I'm sure that once mine comes back I'll be carrying it every day!
