I got my Taliwhacker 3 days ago. After viewing photos from previous thread, my Taliwhacker is very stained with something or a bit rusty upon arrival. Also feels a bit rough or pitted.

Any tips on removing dark spots to make it look new?

I tried rubbing with a regular paper towel and nothing comes out.

Yeah, mine had some carbon or something on the spine. I used some 220 grit sand paper and Fitz polish to remove it. The finish is kind of rough. Oh well, at least I won't have to worry about scratching up the pretty satin finish with kydex:D

Too bad it's not ganzaaaa time. Now is the perfect time for a fake Jerry to jump in with what everyone should use to

Polish their tail whacker!!!!!!

A couple of the ones I got had some black marks on the edges and the tips. Looks like burn marks. Also had a couple with the slightest of surface rust as well. I have had great results using diatom power on SR101. Just get it a little wet and use a paper towel. Leaves no marks and even polishes the blade a little. Plus diatom powder is super cheap. I just happen to have it on hand for my chickens.

Mothers mag polish is my go to on satin blades. It works amazing at taking anything off the blade.
