Hello everyone,

I got my tarwar today. After an endless 3 days of waiting, it has finally arrived. I must say, that it is an exceptional work of art.
Completley flawless and molded especially to fit my hand :-)
I've been a fan of Himalayn-imports since I saw my roomates Chiruwa AK Kukri. Very nice blade as well. After lookting through the website,
I came across a pic of the TarWar, I knew instantly then that I must have it.
I was somewhat concerned with the weight and shear size of the blade, and I was worried that the handle might not be long enough,
but to my surprise, everything was just the perfect size. The tarwar is very well balanced, and feels almost neutral when held with two hands. Not top heavy, or bottom heavy, just a perfect balance. The handle also feels as if it was molded just for my hand. With a single hand, I am able swing the tarwar around freely without too much effort, although I was shocked at the initial weight, I quickly got used to it. Now, with my very own tarwar, I can say that I am definetly pleased with my first purchase from HI, and I am bound to be a lifetime supporter.

Specs on my Tarwar:
Exactly 29 inches.
8" Handle; 21" Blade
Beuatiful mirror finish; excellent wooden handle.
Very nicely done sheath.
Weight roughly : 2 1/4 - 2 1/2 lbs.

I'm very happy.

Welcome to the Cantina.

It won't take you long to realize the different khukuris would turn out to be just as perfect as the tarwar - just for other purposes.

Then you'll be back.

( From the score of My Fair Lady )

The Lord God gave man liquor for temptation,
So that he could learn and turn away from sin,
The Lord God gave man liquor for temptation but -
With a little bit of luck, with a little bit of luck,
With a bit of luck you'll give right in!

Wishing you the best of luck - Rusty

As I recall that's a Bura tarwar and he does a very decent job on that model. Old king Birendra had a couple, I think, and used them for cermonial purposes.
