Hi all,

Got my TGLB in the mail this morning. Feels a bit lighter than the original and the fuller is wider, its still a hefty blade and the hollow grind is not deep so you have plenty of infi for strength. It is a better slicer than the original and still retains enough weight for chopping and whacking on stuff. I wandered out in the woods to take a few shots of it with an original for comparison.

Thanks for sharing, Dave. Are you planning to do a more in-depth review and comparison later? I hold your word on the TG in highest esteem (you are pretty much Mr. Team Gemini User here), so I'm really interested in what you'll have to say about the Light Brigade version. Been holding out on ordering one just for this.

Yeah I'm going to beat on it and use it just like the original, I'll be taking a camping backpacking trip to colorado the end of the month and it will be my main blade for that too. So far it chops brush better than the original, it bites deeper with the slightly thinner edge profile. I will be using it around the ranch pretty hard for the next few days and I'll post how its performing. Right now it seems to me to be a substantial improvement over the original simply for the better blade profile and weight savings.

i'm looking forward to getting mine. My card got pinged last week and still no mailing notification:(

The TG LBS is great! Wish I had an original, only for comparison purposes. Thanks for the quick write up & pictures!

The new one is tanker grey with black g10 the old one is tanker grey with black canvas with a lot of sweat and work use.

kickass pix and i'll be keepin' my eyeball out for your further reviews of hard field usage...

Thanks for the info on the new vs. older TG. Confirmed a couple things I thought to be true.

Dave
Thanks for the comparison comments. Just one question - is the LB balance a bit more forward than the original? (Just trying to figure out if the LB treatment offsets the hollow grind, or offsets and then some more)

the LB version balances for me right behind the guard. The original is much more blade forward in weight. The LB is quicker in the hand by a lot.

Congrats Bro and thanks for the side by side comparison. I cant wait for the more indepth comparisons.
