I got my Trisul from a DOD this week. Its got an antler handle. Pictures do not do this knife justice! It is an elegant dagger. The blade is brightly polished and perfectly straight. It fits in my hand just right and is well balanced. Hands down the nicest sheath I've ever gotten from HI, blood red, no scars, great stitching. Sorry I don't have pics.

I don't know what I'll do with it, but its quite a knife.

Downsides? Well, its really not sharp and the swedge is way too thick to be a false edge or sharpened down.

Well, I'm like a broken record, but I'll say it anyways. I can't believe that I got a knife this good looking, this sturdy and this well made, hand crafted by the kamis, for 75.00.

Thanks Yangdu. Another Ace as usual.

Please send all guilt monies in excess of the 75.00 you paid to Bruiseleee.

Shann,

I've seen one picture of your new knife. I don't know the specs, but it looks like it would be great as a boot knife... Hmmmm. Sharpening to a 40 degree bevel shouldn't be a problem. Get a Spyderco TriangleSharpmaker... Me, I pull up and back from the base of the sharpener, not down and back...

With that design, if the spine remains thick until nearing the point, you could try a real short "false edge." The only knives I've had with sharp false edges were Bowie knives, and using the back cut was one of my favorites... THERE, it truly is "all in the wrist."

If you don't have two usable edges, it just means using your wrist to reposition the blade... A pain in the a**, but doable... IF there were a disadvantage to the Khukuri's design, the Bowie knife fighter would point to no false edge... Somehow, I wouldn't bet against somebody proficient with either weapon... That's why you hear instructors with their favorite mantra, "Practice, practice, practice..." They're right... Bleed in training, not combat...

I like the quillions... Are they the same width as the spine? Or do they taper out? What's lateral movement like? Is the weight of the blade the primary determinent? What about using reversed grip? How does she handle there?

Well, take care, stay safe, and have fun...

BTW, Congratulations... She looks to be a real beauty...
