AND I LOVE IT!
I had no idea the grips were rougher on a jungle version than a regular. I have a 2013 Commander in black and the new Jungle 2013 and the green G-10 is much MUCH gripperi and I love it.. I like it better than the smoother version in the normal black.
I compared the G10 on my other 2013 models Emersons like the minis. And they have an even smoother G10. So I used to think Emerson used the same course G10 on all his knives for a particular year. But within 2013 models of different types I notice different smoothness and coarseness.
Anyway, I just noticed all this until I received my new Jungle commander the other day..and I had no idea it has a different coarseness to the G10. I do not see it advertised anywhere?
Now I also have a Jungle CQC-8 (full size) coming in the mail tomorrow (Monday) and I am double excited.. and I hope that the G10 is just as rough as the Commander.
The whole "Jungle" concept and themse makes sense to me know because the Jungle is made for a more wet environment.
I just wish they made a Jungle in Stonewash. Does anyone know if Emerson makes a Jungle with a stonewash blade?
What is the purpose of just having them in a black blade? Is the black blade any more impervious to a wet environment? If so, that would explain the reason they only come with black blades. Because it meets the theme of rustproof and grippier handle for a wet environment.
