First impression.

Good fit and finish. Nice shape. Pretty darn sharp. Looks wicked in profile when open!

Locks up good. Takes a spine wack test ok.

The unlock area of the liner sticks out a bit much into the finger choil area, making unintened release at least possible.

A bit hard to open, lotsa friction. I'm going to loosen the blade pivot slightly later at home. See if I can get some slippery stuff in there.

Probably will get in the rotation, although at this time I see my <$20 Vapor being the most carried of what I own now. (due to easily carried shape and apparent Sheeple Friendliness...)

Hope this helps someone!

Also finding the pocket clip is VERY secure!

Will almost certainly dremel on the lock to get it out of harms way.

These are great knives. I realized I like Wharncliff's after I got mine. I picked up the AUS-8 version as well and another regular for my son to try. Never had any lock troubles. I had to loosen my clip a little also.

I'd got a Mirage gray ghost Wharncliff, it the knife I used to try my hand at customizing.
It's easy to take apart and work on, so far, I had:
- Reworked the liner lock by smoothing out all the contacts.
- Reworked the action by replacing one of the washer with one made of Phosphor bronze. I can't find the right size for the other one thru.
- Replaced back spacer with 2 round spacers for that open frame look.
- Polished the upper half of the AUS8A blade to give it a 2-tone look.

Great fun and great knife.
